Detroit fans have been calling Nyquist a disappointment since his extension. He never took the next step and my have even regressed. He may have almost had as many points as Palat. But Palat is a premier defender as well and does a lot that doesn't show up on the score sheet (look at how players do with him on the ice vs without) . Nyquist not so much. I don't think Nyquist gets a first alone right now.

You're right that Nyquist has regressed but I believe he is still a top 6 forward, not a dump. I think the whole Detroit team has regressed. A change of scenery would be nice for him. I was just throwing Palat's name out there, he is very good defensively but injuries are slowing him down.

Not Today are you thinking someone else? Palat missed 20 games two years ago but only 7 last year. The year he missed 20 was only season he got under 50 points. Last year was a bit lower than first two but the whole team sucked i think Johnson is slowing down possibly due to injury much more than Palat.

Reasoning: Calgary gets a team leader who could easily put up points beside Gaudreau and Monahan, Calgary can place him on the 1st Line RW, and Colorado gets important pieces tributing to their rebuild and a cap dump to stabilize cap space on Calgary's end. Calgary gives up a lot of their future but get a young established 1st line winger. Plus they have a lot of upcoming prospects like Kylington, Falkovsky, Ruzicka, Klimchuk, Shinkaruk, Gillies, Parsons. Landeskog is still quite young. And theirs far more drafts to come.

TraderBro - in what way are those 5 bad pieces? Andersson and Janko could and should make the team this year, Dube is potentially a solid mid-6 option for the future and Adam Fox is looking like a good young D.
Based on Landeskog's past year and offensive capabilities, he's definitely not worth that.

3 things:
1) This is a Salary cap era. You can't just dump 5 players on a team and take one. Their are contract limits (50) and the CAP.
2)Quality does not equal quantity
3) Despite the aforementioned cliche, you seem to be giving up WAY too much for landeskog. Janikowski will be a second line center, and Andersson is a top pairing D. They're both blue chip prospects despite what all these fools above think. They're both maturing very well. It's not worth landing a natural LW to play RW for us. You may as well ask for Rantenen.

There's really no need for Hanzal, Boyle or Alzner. Calgary doesn't have enough capspace to resign their RFAs and another Dman if Hanzl and Alzner are getting 4M per season. I agree that Calgary need a top RW, who is elite. Virtanen just isn't that guy. Calgary would be better off going after Mantha or Dal Colle. It would have to be a prospect for prospect swap though. None of this spare parts for a good player crap we normally see on here.

Apparently Calgary has sent an offer for Hamonic and considering Hamonic almost landed in Calgary before he rescinded his trade request last year I got a couple trades. Also Galchenyuk is on the block.
