LAKings Trade
Clarke
Toronto Trades
Kampf*
Liljegren
Timmons
Hildeby (AHL)
1st Round Pick 2026
Toronto retains 50% of Kampf's remaining contract.
This is not just a Cap Trade but also a hockey trade for both Teams, with Doughty out getting both Liljegren and Timmons will help right away from the backend, Hildeby is close and The Kings don't have that young depth in Goaltender and Hildeby might just be the best player in this proposal.
It's really a lot to give up for The Leafs, but with a Cap issue this fixes it and getting Clarke with such a high sealing it's worth the cost.

There's just no real upside on this for LA. They've developed Clarke and are looking at him to start logging bigger minutes and playing a bigger role. Losing Doughty sucks obviously, but they will likely address internally or maybe trade for someone like Timmins as a stop gap until Doughty comes back. The last thing we should be doing is unloading Hildeby. We finally have some promising young goalies in the system, him being the best one. Let him have another good year in the AHL and if injuries happen we bring him up and give him a few games to see how he's fairing. Hopefully next year he's ready to make the jump to be a full time NHLer.

Pinball, you won't get Clark for that package.

Or LA could just continue you to develop Clarke and give him more opportunities on the PP with Doughty out.
And I think you meant Clarke has such a high ceiling it's worth the cost.
And you're correct, Clarke has such a high ceiling it would take a much better return for LA than 3 role players on the Leafs roster, a goaltender prospect and a late 1st round pick.

To add to what MG, Euro & DRW said, there’s also the salary cap issue. While Doughty will be on LTIR to start the season, he’s officially listed as “Month to Month”, so when he comes back they’d be over the cap.
