Columbus has stated they just want to part ways with Laine and getting a fresh start with The Leafs would be the best for Columbus, Toronto and Laine.

Leafs get a top 6 winger that would only help Toronto, I see a win win situation for everyone in this proposal, Laine will love playing in a huge market like Toronto also.

Do a Crosby trade next, but make sure you include Dewar and Liljegren or it won't be fair to Pittsburgh.

Only way I could see this being possible is if CBJ have exhausted all other avenues and just want to do right by Laine by giving him a fresh start. Not something the Leafs should be entertaining at all though. He struggled in WPG because the market was big and he was under a microscope. He struggled in CBJ even though it's a smaller market. He would have a difficult time in TOR.

The idea that we should be going all in this year to win a cup is laughable. The goal is the cup obviously, but let's see what Chief can do with this team first before we start trading the little draft capital we have left. Let's see how they respond to a coach who demands effort. Hopefully we add a defenseman and a capable backup. Hopefully Will stays healthy and we just look to next offseason where we have a big chunk of money to work with potentially to really make this team deep and competitive.
