I think for the Habs right now, a majority of the deals will or should be for picks.

Schneider was a 1st rounder 2yrs ago Kravtsov was 3yrs ago. Both were Gorton picks. Picks and good prospects should be the goal, not just picks. They already have 11 picks and plenty of more guys to trade.

Kravstov was picked higher than he should have been and he's a malcontent. I doubt anyone would trade a first or even an early second for him now.

Schneider is decent but Toffoli is a pretty good player on a good contract with some term left on it. Lots of teams will be interested in him.

Forgot to mention Chiarot. He might fetch a first though I think a 2nd and something else is more likely.

It's a good basis for a trade and as @Badhabits points out, both were drafted by Gorton, so would likely be open to going to Montreal and getting a better chance to play, but NYR is going to have to offer a bit more and will have to take the Cap Space in to account as well.

They wouldn’t include Schneider for Eichel so I doubt they trade him.
