*Montreal retains 50% of Hoffman's remaining contract.


Montreal and Toronto rarely make trades with each other, but believe this proposal could work for both Teams, Hoffman would fit right into the Top 6 being a great scorer that can play both the PP and PK.
Montreal is ready to tear it down and Hoffman is one of many I think will be traded out of Montreal by the deadline, weather it's to Toronto or another Team, I do believe Hoffman will be traded.

Maybe, but MTL likely just retains for 2 of the 3 years OR asks for another 2nd/ 3rd Round Pick or Equivalent Prospect back from TOR to retain 2.25 x 3 years = 6.75 million.

Ritchie and Dermot are the new Leafs trade package, what happened to Kerfoot? Is he playing well, so he no longer gets included in your trades?

trevorA you can't do that. if you retain it has to be the entire duration of the contract.
