Can someone please tell me how Josh Doan>>Robertson? Both are 2nd round picks. Robertson played 1st line in his D+1 year for USA at the U20 WJC where he had a strong showing. He then became the youngest player in leafs history to play a playoff game. He was then held back from the leafs to go back down to the WJC because he already proved himself there. ( a mistake imo ) .

Doan is a few years away Atleast from the NHL where as Robertson will probably be top 6 on the leafs.

Am I crazy because I have no clue how someone could possibly thing Josh Doan is currently a better prospect. Not to say Arizona would move their hometown boy for PR reasons but that’s just a crazy statement imo.

It's obvious enough it shouldn't need to be said.

Besides being an early second round pick vs a late second round pick Doan is bigger, stronger, younger and he's a right shot which is harder to find than left shots like Robertson.

A right shot forward with good size vs a left shot shrimp.

Draft position means very little many players like Kucherov, Guadreau, Webber, Karlsson, Rinne and Vais vastly out live there draft position. He was drafted 2 years ago and is miles ahead in development then plenty of 1st round pick in the 2019 draft. Let’s not forget he missed the 2020 draft requirements by a hair so really if he were to be picked in 2020 he would’ve been a top 20 pick after a 55 goal year in the OHL. Robertson is guaranteed to be a NHL player. Doan is not. Size and Strength can be built by hard work. Skill, IQ and Talent are much harder to come by. Bigger doesn't mean better. Look at Freddy Gauthier. He went before Guadreau but does that mean he’s better then Guadreau?

No buddy is taking Doan over Robertson. Literally nobody. Robertson cracked the top 50 prospects rakings 2 years in a row now.

Thats not enough for Chych, and the Yotes won't trade Doan because of Shane Doan, but to say Josh Doan is more valuable than Robertson is laughable.

Considering what the Leafs have at LW, he probably will get a chance to play there this year.

With Hyman gone the best LW they have returning is what? Engvall?

Engvall and Robertson would have trouble just making the roster elsewhere. In Toronto they're likely to be top 6 since they don't have the money for a decent LW like oh say Hyman.
