If Washington thinks they’ll lose Vancek to Seattle.

EDM - Koskinen (50% retained, 2.25M), 2023 3rd, 2021 4th

WAS - Vanecek

They’ll get a veteran backup capable of being a 1B. Oilers could replace one of the picks with a defense prospect, Kemp/ Kesselring.

The same trade could be made for Kahkonen in Minnesota if they choose to protect Talbot.

Doubt Washington would take Koskinen even at 2.25 mill, if they did, the cost would be higher than a 3rd and a 4th. The picks by themselves might be able to do it, although maybs it needs to be a 2nd like a lot of other deals have been?

Then they’d lose Samsanov. Koskinen at 2.25M has value IMO. These other deals were a 2nd going to the team trading away the contract. If it were comparable to the other deals it would look more like Vanecek, 2nd/ 3rd for Koskinen full cap.

Koskinen and his contact are a liability, not an asset. To dump that ridiculous deal you need a major sweetener.
