WPG: 17th Overall, Copp
DET: 6th Overall

Jets move up in the draft, can protect Appleton instead of Copp. Wings get a proven leader mid 6 F to help the rebuild. Probably willing to sign long term since he's from Michigan.

Copp/ Appleton hold value at/ less than Arvidsson’s value imo. Like with Arvidsson, teams know that Winnipeg is going to lose one of Copp/ Appleton to Seattle unless they pay a 2nd+, so they’ll try to maximize that leverage and minimize either of their values. In that case then, I don’t think an undervalued Copp would be the difference between 6&17 - if there was no Seattle expansion draft, then the values probably closer, but Winnipeg holds almost no leverage on either of Appleton or Copp atm.

Far too much for Winnipeg to give up to move up in an uncertain draft. They Jets want to compete now, giving up their best defensive player for futures doesn't help with that.

Rather keep the 6th, not much interest in moving down. If you need to move Copp/ Appleton we can talk about another deal since they would be Seattle expansion risks. That’s about it.

Just no interest in dropping that far to get one of them. Willing to move a pick/ other options to get them.

Tbf, Copp > Appleton, so yeah, I’m mistaken there - but in either case, I think teams play hardball with Winnipeg in deals for either of them.

Copp moves you up to 12/ 13 maybe.
