I'd love to take McTavish on the Sens. He's from Ottawa and is one of the top forward prospects in this draft.
I'd expect him to be taken around 7, so assuming he is still there, Ottawa makes this trade with SJ.
Ottawa receives pick 7
San Jose receives Joey Daccord, pick 10, their 2021 2nd round pick back, another 2nd/3rd round pick from Ottawa.
San Jose receives an NHL ready goaltender prospect and 2 solid picks to move down 3 spots.

Not enough to move down 3 picks inside the top 10 imo. I honestly don’t know what they would want. I just know it’s not enough.

Easily enough IMO. I don’t imagine Daccord has too much value, maybe a 4th ish? A 2nd, 3rd and 4th is plenty to move up 3 spots.

@ebs I would agree if the pick wasn’t in the top 10.

I think it all depends right. If they have their eyes set on a player that would be 7-9 then they probably don’t do it. If they think their guy would still be there when they pick at 10 they probably would.

That is true, if they want a particular player and know he’ll still be available at 10 then I 100% see it as a big brain move lol but the Top 10 is usually decided.

This drafts a bit different because there’s 2 very solid goaltending prospect that could shake up the order. I could see Detroit going with Wallstadt at 6, and then SJ, LA, and Chicago could also go goalie shortly afyer.

I like it but hopefully Clarke is available if they do that. Pick Brandte Clarke instead, McTavish more of a back up plan. Either would be great and both are hometown boys. Clarke is a better fit and more of a sure thing for the main roster as he and Sanderson together would be gold.
