Mtl:Tatar,1rd2021,Fleury,Harris

Nash:Forsberg

Tatar sign and trade at 5.5 million for 4 years. Market has went down for wingers so this is a good contract for a guy who has been marked off come playoff time. Forsberg signs at 7.5 million for 6 years.

Tatar, Fleury, Harris hold little to no value to Nashville. The 1st is nice. Imo it’s going to cost 1st and Romanov atleast. Not going to get him for scraps dude.

@NotACasual I’d like to agree, but seeing how little the Preds traded Arvidsson for, it wouldn’t surprise me if they made another bad trade.
That said; Forsberg would be the best player (excluding Price) on the Habs, so a competent GM would probably want at least Romanov, a 1st and a replacement player like Tatar.

Do sign and trades ever happen this close to free agency? Doesn’t make much sense for Nashville IMO.

Tatar as a UFA doesn't hold much value. Maybe a 5th or so? Even as a sign and trade, he's not signing for the 8th year so yeah, his addition isn't worth more than like a 5th. As well, no way Tatar gets 5.5 mill - he's probably going to get between 2.5-3 on a short term deal (Tyson Barrie esque) because of how he was scratched during the playoffs; he’ll have to re-up his value imo.

Harris no value? He s a solid prospect, mtl should keep him.

Websjac you got to look at situations a little deeper. Avidsson wasn’t going to be protected during the expansion draft so they maximized his value to the small amount of teams with protection slots. The market for him was tiny as contenders couldn’t protect him.

@nylander yeah I was reading that Nashville’s GM said that he knew he’d lose him for nothing to Seattle.
