Calgary won't have the Cap Space.
Everyone needs to look at Cap before thinking of a trade idea.

Probably a bit much for Reinhart but I might be able to live with it. I'd be happier with it if the pick was a 2nd or Calgary kept Pelletier. The real problem though is someone else would have to move to make room for Reinhart's cap hit which is going to go up since he's an RFA now.

Calgary can probably resign Derek Ryan for less to save a million or so but that won't be nearly enough. If the Kraken take Gio or we trade Gio for picks/ prospects that'd free up enough money.

Other options to free up cap would be to trade Backlund or convince the Kraken to take Lucic. And of course there's a pretty good chance Gaudreau could be traded too though that's likely to involve another player with a cap hit over 5 mil/ year.

That's too much for Rakell. Even just the two seconds is probably a bit much, adding in a big young center like Ruzika would be a mistake.

@moxnix Backlund would be easy to move imo. Gio @ retention to a contender would be a more realistic move though.

I agree with your Rakell take though, I added a little more just incase someone said it wasn’t enough considering their asking price at the deadline.

I dunno, Rackell just sounds too much like a typical Treliving move. Won't pay what it takes to get the player he should get and instead overpays for a worse option. Neal instead of Stone or even Patches for example.

What are you adding to those two players for Seattle to take one. Seattle probably takes Kylington in expansion draft.
