Value is ok but I don't see Philly trading Konecny without getting a top 6 forward in return. I don't see Toronto trading their best LD for a 3rd pairing / taxi squad RD either.

Value wise this is bad for leafs and needs wise it is 10x worse.

Do you really think The Leafs will be able to resign Rielly after next season? Plus The Leafs have Drafted 2 pretty good Defencemen in Sandin and Liljegren, so with that said would you rather have Kerfoot signed one more year longer than Rielly, or Konecny signed long term?
It's a good business hockey trade.
You never seem to look beyond one season by your responses over and over on here.

You don’t trade the best player from your weakest position for a player in your strongest position. That’s just stupid. You let him walk as a UFA and use cap space on replacement worst case.

The Leafs have Defenceman Prospects, your logic makes no sense, it's a business to keep the train rolling year after year, top teams do that, plus if they have the Cap when Rielly is a UFA anyone can sign him including the Leafs, and if you say traded players don't sign back to a team that has traded them, Roman Polak was traded to SJ and signed back with The Leafs the following season.

Laughable that Philly gives up Konecny and his controlled CAP with 30 goal point per game upside for a bottom 6 player and another LD who has NO defensive prowess, has too big a CAP hit for what he is, and is overall a horrible fut in Philly. Fletcher laughs hysterically at this.
