Nashville Trades
Forsberg (50% of Contract Retained)
6th Round Pick 2021

Toronto Trades
Mikheyev
Engvall
Sandin (AHL)
1st Round Pick 2021
2nd Round Pick 2021

If Nashville does indeed Trade Forsberg they will want the Sun, Moon and Stars for him, this Trade Proposal does that and to start a rebuild this helps huge.

For The Leafs yes it's an overpayment but with how close they are this year you roll the dice on this and do it, they still have many prospects and there main core is still very young that it won't hurt there future to make a trade like this.

Thoughts ?

I hate trades involving Engvall because it’s getting to be too much, however this trade isn’t too bad. Good post pinball.

What do you even mean trades involving Engvail? He’s in there to balance cap not for value.

Also this is to much from the leafs this is way more then what Erik Karlsson, Mark Stone and Max Paccioreti got.

From a leafs perspective they make this trade all day, however I think that forsberg can still get more especially at 50% retention. If I was the president GM and the leafs were serious about getting forsberg I’d ask for robertson, mikayhev and a 1st as a starting point. The first will be late but the preds will receive a player that can replace forsberg next year and Robertson could potentially be better than forsberg but if the leafs want to win now then it’s worth the gamble cause right now if leafs add forsberg to their top 6 then they have a extremely dangerous forward group.
The preds would want a forward back as they already have scoring trouble and they still have ekholm, josi, fabbro and Ellis as they’re top 4, none of which are on bad contract or old. The leafs need to keep their d prospects as well.

@mertle
The Preds can get more than my proposal?
Maybe if Forsberg is signed for another 5yrs after this one, but he is a UFA after next season, if anything it's an overpayment by The Leafs and I don't see any Team topping this proposal, The Leafs do it because this year they have everything in place to win except one more key Top 6 Forward, and that's where Forsberg comes in.

Mettle, Forsberg hasn't even come close to a point per game yet. You think he is worth all that? Hate to see what your trade value for someone who is a point per game player would be.

People just love to completely ignore comparibles in what world does Forsburg get more value then the best dman in the nhl ( Karlsson at the time ) .

@Nylander
I completely agree that my proposal is probably to much and if The Leafs can get Forsberg of course they offer less, I just believe with what they have in place this year only with Thornton, Spezza, Simmonds, and possibly Hyman and FAndersen all UFAs that might walk and or retire when it comes to Thornton and Spezza, why not maybe overprice to get that one player that might put them over the top, if that's the case nobody that is a Leaf fan would care this cost for Forsberg winning The Cup.

If I’m Detroit and I’m offered that package for Larkin I consider it. That’s like giving a bucket of gold for a nice well crafted gold watch.

Sandin (who has looked ok) and a late first are a bucket of gold?

Forsberg, is a 30 goal-60 point player, but he does everything. Responsible, hits, p. p. or p. k., definitely a player who helps a team win. If he's being shopped, it's an auction. And at 50% off, this might be a starting bid.
