No from Winnipeg

The Jets would rather keep Ehlers, Niku and Roslovic. Monahan is good but not worth that return.

That's a lot for Monahan, especially after a down year. I'd say Monahan across for Ehlers is a lot more fair, even if Monahan had a worse season, he plays a more desired position. So Ehlers for Monahan without adding Niku or Ros is better imo.

Winnipeg would rather just keep the better player in Ehlers. Not to mention far too much coming from Winnipeg.

Try not to post such biased trades.

That is more then fair for both teams when you consider that Mony is a center that had 82 points in 2018-2019. That fact that he had 48 points in 70 games doesn’t take away that ppg+ season. Jets could even add a pick to close the deal and get one of the best 2 way center in the game today.

Can someone explain how elhers is better? In any capacity?

7.) 31 Oct 2020

Ehlers is a better play driver, better scorer, younger, better contract, makes players around him better. pretty much everything important Ehlers is veteran Monahan at.

You really need to do a little research before posting monkeyman. You just show off your bias and lack of hockey knowledge with posts like that.

I'll take Monahan over Ehlers any day. however I don't think the difference is Niku and Roslovic. Maybe a Ehlers and a 3rd?
I think it would be huge mistake for Calgary to move Monahan . so what, he had a down year. He's not a superstar number one center, however he is decent number one. not all teams can have a number one like McDavid, McKinnon, ect. obviously every team wishes they could have a Superstar ctr, but its not reality.
Hes what 26? I'm sure he can turn around last season.

Ehlers is a good player but he's a left wing left shot. Not only is Calgary already stacked at LW but Monahan is a left shot himself. Might as well just have him play LW and trade Gaudreau for something the Flames actually need like a right shot RW or RD.

Value is dead on in my honest opinion.

This is an actual realistic trade that prob won’t happen because Calgary are high on Money. Trading number one center that have ppg potential and a 82 career high is not very smart as per Ryan OReilly. I think in Winnipeg with Patrick Laine Money become a full time pot center that can get 30 goals and play a solid all around game. Money is a top 20 center in the game. Those don’t get traded cheaply.

Elhers hasn't hit 30 goals, monahan has hit 3 times. Monahan is better defensively, better in the playoffs. Plays a more important position. He makes 375,000 more a year which is basically nothing, and is 1.5 years older.

Elhers just had his best year, and it didn't beat Monahans down year by much. I thought elhers was a 30 goal scorer at least.

@bruhtrades Ehlers isn’t better

I have to agree with Sosahabs24.
Ehlers and 3rd ( maybe a 2nd ) for Monahan.
But I can’t see it happening. Leaves too big of a hole for Calgary.
But I’d rather trade Laine over Ehlers. One he would get you more and Ehlers is a better locker room guy.

Hey Sosahabs24 would you do a
WPG
Laine
Stastny
Niku

For

CAL
Monahan
Hanifin
Dude.

jets just traded for stastny y would they do that.

If i'm the Jets, I don't trade Laine. Unless he asked for it.
I also think at this point in their careers, you start trying to put Laine with Schieffle and
Wheeler becomes secondary to Laine. but that's a big gamble. as Laine one day looks like perennial Rocket winner, the next he looks like he'd rather be anywhere but on the ice, like at home playing video games.

Also, Calgary would still have a pretty big hole at center. If for some reason both teams agreed to this, then the Flames need to look at moving Gaudreau for a center to get Laine the puck. Stastny is getting old,
I think your value is close though. Jus due to Laines potential, he's only 22, I think a 2nd, maybe even lottery protected 1st should be added.

01 Nov 2020 18:51:29
Thanks for your opinion.
I totally agree with you. That trade may solve WPG s needs but would create more holes and problems for the Flames.
I don’t really think the Jets will trade Laine unless they can’t sign him or he wants out.

What’s your opinion on the moves the HABS made?

I wrote a big thing for ya Muzza, but hit the wrong damn button haha.
Anyway, I like them. Little skeptical about the Anderson one. Time will tell in that. The extra pick wasn't needed and the term of new contract worries me, other than that . Pretty happy with what they have.

22.) 01 Nov 2020
01 Nov 2020 22:48:31
Feel the same as you. Happy with all the moves but wonder about the Anderson trade. He brings much needed size. But will he actually fit Habs style. Also worried about what Julien does with the additions.
They are better, but depends on how they gel.

Wow. I don't have a horse in this race, but why would Winnipeg even consider this?

24.) 07 Nov 2020

Heh, Winnipeg fans vastly overrate their own players. Those 3 players for Monahan would be horrible trade for Calgary. Winnipeg on the other hand would do it in a second. The only players the Jets have that Calgary would consider doing a straight 1 for 1 trade for Monahan are Scheifele and Wheeler. They might think about Laine too.

Sheifele and Monahan are comparable players. Wheeler is a big right shot RW with a good 2 way game.

Laine is a good offensively, a sniper with a great shot but nothing special as a playmaker or a guy who can drive play. He's big but isn't very physical and he's a defensive liability. Laine for Gaudreau would make a lot more sense for the Flames because they could use a real sniper and RW is is their weakest forward position but the Jets wouldn't do it because they don't need a LW.
