Not even close, Winnipeg says no.

- Nylander scores, but is known for being soft.
- Malgin has played parts of 4 NHL seasons with meager results.
- Sandin isn't yet a full-time NHL'er, and Winnipeg would need D help now.

This isn't even CLOSE to being a serious offer for a serious talent like Laine.

The gap between Laine and Nylander can't be closed with random Leaf garbage. There just isn't enough incentive for Winnipeg to take such a massive downgrade.

memarcusjoe a huge downgrade?
Laine PPG .81
WNylander PPG .72
adding Sandin and a 1st Rounder closes that gap huge.
Malgin and the 3rd Rounder is just a Trade off but to make the comment tells everyone you downgrade Leaf Players as garbage etc.
If Winnipeg does trade Laine they would be looking at a young replacement for Laine and WNylander is 24yrs old on a good contract and a Top 6 forward, adding Sandin and a 1st Round Pick would seal that proposal.

I do agree wpg says no, but I don't think it's that far off. Sandin is full time nhl'r, just has been sheltered. Nylander, sandin, and a first isn't too bad value, but just as Toronto isn't rebuilding, neither are the jets. They want right now pieces, and they're getting nylander for laine.

Chicken foot is a troll, the leafs pass on this one. Laine is going to command up to 9 million after next year and the leafs simply cannot afford that. Nylander’s contract will be much better then Laine’s, and Dubas would not throw Sandin into that trade, no chance

Nylander+1st is more then enough imo. Laine only had like 4 more points then Nylander last year, and Nylander had more goals. I understand that Nylander may be the “softer player” and Laine is technically better defensively, but that doesn’t make Laine good in his own end, just about average.

Laine also just wouldn’t really fit well beside Tavares or Matthews as they are the primary goal scorers and I would rather have a playmaker on their wing.

I agree that Chickenfoot is a troll themostleaf33 but if say Laine gets in the 9m range after this upcoming season the Leafs will have that covered with NRobertson and JAnderson replacing Hyman and Simmonds who are both UFAs.
There is also trading Kerfoot for another 3.5m to resign FAndersen if they decide to.
Holl and his 2m can also be traded for Cap relief, this actually could work and Laine get his contract.

Two things I've notice here are;
1st Many pro-Leaf posters are trying to dump soft Nylander and expect posters to blindly believe how great he is and how the Leafs are doing teams a favor by trying to trade him for unrealistically biased offers.
2nd Posters desperately want Laine at pennies on the dollar and when they are called out on these type of trades they bellow that Laine isn't a good player and not worth any offer. Then anyone against this trade proposal is a homer.
That's why so many people here question so many posts.

islandjet what my proposal and offer is probably more talent wise than other teams would offer, WNylander is a Top 6 player on any team and to say different is bias against his talent, if and I say if Winnipeg does decide to part ways with Laine this is about what they would get, to replace Laine's goals is next to impossible maybe Ovechkin but would Winnipeg trade a 22yr old for a 30+ year old that's a no, so I put this out to anyone if Laine is traded what team and what do you think he would fetch realistically?

I’ve actually consistently said I would not want Laine on my teams roster. Not trying to ‘steal him from you for pennies on the dollar’. Zero interest. I’m just convinced he will go somewhere and when that return comes in and it’s similar or less value than some of these proposals, Islandjet and Marcus will be praising Chevy saying he robbed teamX and the pieces they got back are amazing. That’s all.

ISLAND JET: well-said.

PINBALL: there is a reason your trade proposals seem unrealistic to most. But at the end of the day, these are all just opinions. I respect that you are a big fan of your team, and the players within it. To a non-leaf fan your trade proposals come across pretty one-sided. That's as nice as I can put it.
