Vegas isn’t saving cap so easy no from them.
Schmidt and Murray just got traded for a 3rd and 5th, no way Russell gets a 4th. Hopefully only a 4th from Edmonton to move him.
I don’t think LA is in the position to be trading picks and Edmonton can’t afford to lose Larsson this season.
Not sure how to feel about the Nurse trade. Can’t afford to lose him this season but I personally don’t want to pay him when his contract is up. Maybe Khaira instead of Chiasson though? Bit younger.

Well Vegas is saving $3.5M in that trade. But if they want to save more they could then only retain $1M on Martinez. That way Vegas is saving $4.5M .

I think Russell could get a 4th or a 5th round pick. He does have a cap hit of $4M but is only owed like $1.5M . So that is big for a club wanting to save actual money.

The trade with LA works cause they have that extra 2nd round pick. The Oilers trade Larsson to free up cap space.

Losing Nurse works with what is being brought back. DeBrusk is the LW that is needed and Grzelcyk will take up the slack that is gone with Nurse. But the Oilers have Barrie and Bear that will help major on the D.

Oilers NEED that upgrade in net and the help on LW. And the added pieces on the D will help with the loss of Nurse, Larsson and Klefbom (on LTIR) . But still keeps it open if Klefbom returns the following year.

Ohh shoot got the number wrong on Fluery, didn’t know it was 7M. Is Fluery a smart way to use the little bit of cap the Oil have? And is he that much of an upgrade on Koskinen?
I agree the Oil could probably easily get a 2nd on Larsson normally just not sure if LA is the right fit. The Oil D would just be really weak IMO.
