Three Way Trade (CGY,TBL,OTT)

To TBL - 2022 First Round Pick (OTT), Logan Brown & Oliver Kylington
To OTT - Noah Hanifin
To CGY - Mikhail Sergachev

Tampa Bay Trades : Mikhail Sergachev
Ottawa Trades : 2022 First Round Pick, Logan Brown
Calgary Trades : Hanifin, Kylington

REASONS :
- Noah Hanifin seems to be the odd man out, and Flames have a log jam of 6/7 defensemen
- Mikhail Sergachev is also the odd man out outta Cernak, Cirelli and have the chance to trade one without taking on significant cap back
- Ottawa needs another defensemen and receives a young Top 4 LHD to fit their team’s age range @ 23 years old on a very good contract

[ Ottawa’s First Round Pick is most likely going to be around a Mid 1st on a gamble that they won’t be a bottom team in the next 2 years which is most likely ]

Calgary wins the trade hands down assuming Sergachev comes with a contract, which is usually the case in trading for an RFA. They’re getting a massive upgrade on Hanifin for throwing in Kylington? Seems unfair.

Ottawa could have had Nate Schmidt if they were looking for a LHD, and he just went for only a 3rd rounder. Why would they trade a 1st, still in a rebuild for a Dman that’s not as good?

@sampson the trade is favouring TBL to help them out with their cap situation, so they don’t have to worry about signing Sergachev. And the pick i purposed is in 2 years, assuming they’d be done their rebuild by then.

For a D that's not as good? You think Schmidt is better than Sergachev? Lmao
Even if, Sergachev is a lot younger and has much more room to grow and is under team control. So you arguing Schmidt fetched only a 3rd and therefore Sergachev is worth less than a third is pretty much the stupidest thing I've ever read, buddy.

My question is why does Tampa do this? If it’s in the worry of an offer sheet well Tampa will get more picks that way as Serg is going to get at least 6.

The_Triplets: When did I say sergachev is not as good as Schmidt?!

Do you read or just get defensive before you do?

I said why would Ottawa pay a 1st for a D that’s not as good as Schmidt? In this proposal, Ottawa is getting hanifin for a 1st.

Just take a breath and read before you write a paragraph saying something I never said or even implied.

My opinion is Schmidt is better than hanifin. You can disagree and I won’t fight you on it. They’re different players and hanifin has a cheaper contract.

But I don’t know anyone that thinks the difference between them is an Ottawa 1st (Should be early 1st) to a Canucks 3rd (Mid 3rd round)

Calgary wins, both ott and tb lose this deal.

Hanifin could bounce up next year and be a good as sergachev. odds are low. If tb wants to clear cap, I could see sergachev and Johnson for hanifin and bennett maybe. But tb only trades him if needed. Absolutely needed.

Hands down Schimidt is better than Hanfin and maybe even Sergechev ( it’s close ) Schimitd is rock solid In his own end. That was a great move by Vancouver. Both dman have more value do you age and potential tho.

If you think Schmidt and Sergachev are close it’s clear you don’t watch Tampa. Sergachev has been great in both ends, solid defensively and offensively. Also makes your trade offers for him make more sense.

I’m assuming jbs is Tampa fan too? They seem to get very defensive very fast. Where is Triplets now?

I was talking to Nylander Sampson, since he was saying Schmidt was close or better than Sergachev. It’s not at all about being defensive, just seeing a lot of people underrate and undersell Tampa players recently with the cap issues.

You don’t mention Tampa Sampson without triplets and jbs getting fried up, lol.

If anything, Tampa keeps their pick, and just trade sergachev to Ottawa for pick. I think Ottawa would be satisfied trading picks away for him.

wHeRe iS tRipLetS noW - maybe not chilling on this site 24/ 7 because I have a life, sorry bro.

My mistake with Sergachev tho, thought the proposal had him going to OTT, my bad. Doesn't change anything considering what I said apart from that, though. Horrific trade for TB, because a) Sergachev won't be traded and b) he'd fetch much more, if he was.

Speaking as a Flames fan I can't see why Ottawa would go for this. It's great for Tampa and good for the Flames but sucks for Ottawa.

More possible would be something like Kylington and a Flames first round pick for Sergachev. Then the Flames would have to trade Hanifin somewhere anyhow unless Tampa wants him instead of Kylington.

Triplets- I check the site a cpl times a day. Interesting stuff sometimes.

But for you to write a response including LMAO to imply I’m the dumb one here, when clearly you didn’t even read the original proposal or what I wrote is the issue. Keep Sergachev, he’s a good player. But actually read the proposals before insulting them.

That’s why you come off as overly defensive. You’re saying proposals that you never even read are bad.
