to Arizona

Arizona needs picks and OEL needs a change of scenery. Maybe toronto throws in another pick but i don't think there's the same amount of value for OEL given his last couple seasons.

Why would we want him if he have nuzzin and reilly ready. Don't waste our pics on useless overpaid dmen.

OEL should bring in more than that on a trade.

Can people stop wasting assets on LHD that Toronto doesn’t need. That doesn’t fix our situation. We need a top 4 RHD, and it would be way easier to use those assets elsewhere.

Toronto doesn't have the Cap Space, and Arizona can get a better deal elsewhere.

OEL has a Cap Hit of 8M+, and Toronto has 6M in space, with a bunch of people left to sign.

ATTENTION LEAF FANS: you can't be in on every trade rumour if your GM has mismanaged your Cap. With 3 guys making 41% of your Salary Cap, you simply CAN'T ice a balanced, competitive lineup.

P. S. Pietrangelo is going to get PAID wherever he goes. probably 9M+, so you can scratch him off your list too unless you further erode your supporting cast or trade one of your big pieces. (The list of teams who can afford THOSE is very short too)

The leafs don’t have a bunch of guys left to sign. When Kerfoot, Johnsson, Dermott and Andersen will leave the leafs with over 18 million in cap space with only Mikheyev to resign.

I totally agree chickenfoot. Dubas gave out too much money to nylander, . Matthews And marner. Why they felt entitled to those amounts baffles me as much as giving it to them. He also erred signing tavares-he signed him for a lot of money knowing he needed defenceman. He is very pompous and has dug a hole.

Nylander u think leafs will trade kerfoot Johnson dermatitis and Anderson for no cap space. Yes they can all trade all these but I don’t thinks so, but imagine yes... leafs will dump salary (players) for no other contract... you will be not a biggest team after this. U can trade these players for draft pick but u need to have player who will play on your team. So you will bring contract too...

NYLANDER: check Cap Friendly. You and your figures are wrong. If I am wrong, factually explain why I am wrong.

All teams trying to trade bottom tier or over paid players, like most posts here, to other teams will find that takers will be harder to find. All these posts about the Leafs dumping players in order to save money and then receiving great returns for these players won't be as easy in this flat cap era.

I checked cap friendly and if the leafs trade Andersen, Kerfoot, Johnsson and Dermott for to Detroit for a 2022 7th round pick that’ll leave the leafs with 18.2 million in cap space. Obviously you’re not great with math and that’s okay there is many adult learning centres available. Kerfoot and Johnsson can be replaced by ELCs, leafs can trade for a cheap goalie like Georgiev or Demko while Dermott will be replaced by Sandin. This roster works according to cap friendly.

Robertson-Mathews-Marner
Mikheyev ( 2 mil ) -Tavares-Nylander
Hyman-Koivu/ Thortan ( 700K ) - Korshkov
Engvail-Spezza ( 700k ) -Barbonov

Rielly-Petro ( 9mil )
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Gudas ( 700k )

? Demko/ Georgiev
Campbell

The leafs are left with almost 5 million in cap space to bring in a starter, 13th F and 7D.

Nylander this is laughable and you know it.

How is that laughable what’s wrong with that lineup it works cap wise? I’m not saying signing Petro is a good move but it works cap wise.

The laughable part is someone taking all those contracts for you.

You need to give up something from that roster if you're thinking demko or georgiev. Something good too, since Canucks and rangers probably are finished rebuilding.

Going after markstrom might be better, and I doubt Thornton or koivu sign for 700k.

Dermott is an RFA worth a 2nd round pick and Andersen is worth a 1st. I’m sure Detroit would trade a 7th round pick for all four player. They’d still be extremely comfortable under the cap.

Number 1 your new lineup sucks and I’m sure your actual gm would not trade all those guys for a 7th round pick. also why would Gudas sign for the league minimum? He’s going to be looking for closer to 3 mil. Also your not going to get Demko or Georgiev for nothing.

18.) 23 Sep 2020

15th overall for Demko add Lilijgren and 2022 1st if need be to get it done. Gudas was a healthy scratch in the playoffs and has been connected to the leafs. We will see what he gets but if not him Zach Bogosian would make sense. Sandin needs a intimidating presence with him. I don’t think the lineup looks bad the defence would be top 5 in NHL question would be how effective is the bottom 6 and how would demko do as a starter.

Why would det give up a7th?

I mean. they're not competing next year, so they pay off the leafs contracts, and don't get as good a draft pick.
