Thinking the aves would probably go after Murray if he’s made available. They’re entering their contender window and would think they’d go after a goalie that has more prime years left. I love price but he might only have a couple more good years left in him. However if aves did target price I don’t think it’s a bad trade. Would think maybe the habs would want kaut instead of Compher tho, just because of age and fitting with a young core.

I can't see the Avs wanting to tie up that much cap space on Price's contract.

Price alone would get 4 of the 5 players above especially considering the only top 6 forward is Kamanev and Girard is a 4-5 Dman at best. You expect Montreal to give up a top 6 winger an Great goalie and a top 4 Dman for that package keep dreaming like I said below

Drouin = Byram + 2nd minimum
Mete = Kamanev
Price = 1st + Grubauer + Nishkanen + either Kaut or Timmins basically 4 1sts which is the going rate for elite or near elite players

This is horrible for Montreal not so much in terms of value as it is in who does those guys coming back replace? None are game changers yes because of the trade grubauer and girard have a spot in the lineup but the others are not an upgrade on anything the habs already have really.

Like do you sit Suzuki to play jost? Armia to play compher? and they already have a dozen prospects better then kamenev.

you are right, joe. I think Col passes. For that matter, MTL passes too. Price will not be traded, he has the most value to MTL.

Trading byram for drouin would be a fleece not seen since sergachev got drouin. Colorado is not desperate for a 50 point winger.

Campabee you’re so delusional at this point Price has negative value his contract is about 3 million overpaid still a great goalie but goalies aren't worth a lot. Saying Drouin is worth a top 5 pick Is a joke I’d hesitate to say he’s worth a 1st due to having a moderately expensive contract and a flat cap. At this point he’s just not that attractive of an asset.

That was my thoughts vbbbvvbb.
Price has negative value. His huge contract is not very appealing. That being said his talent is way better than Grubauer especially for a cup run.
Drouin value I really don’t think it’s as high as everyone thinks it is. I think his ceiling is maybe 50 PTS a season that’s on the high side.

Mete is good at moving the puck. Always has a + rating. But I think Girard would be a better fit for the Habs playing with Weber and the fact he is from Quebec helps.
My trade above may not be great or even good. But the 3 Habs players above I don’t see a lot of trade value. Except for Mete. Young, Fast, puck moving Defense man.

Also if Goalies aren't worth a lot then why are more and more signing for 9 mil +?

Monkeyful so a team would have to be desperate to rake a career 50 point player for 2 prospects and a 1st or 2nd round pick huh? I don't think so just look at the deadline this year Taffoli to Vancouver and Zucker to Pitsburg and Trotchek to Carolina and Kase to Boston all got multiple picks and prospects back hell even Pageau to the Isles got a 1st + 2nd + 3rd Drouin is slightly ahead of to all of them so should he at least that back as well. All in the same age range all in the same points range but somehow Drouin is inferior because he plays for the Habs. Get real! All of the players listed above while are not elite are all playing first line wing on contenders with lots of depth so while the Avs have a great 1st line their second line is no where near as good as other contenders second line so yes the Avs would love to have a 50 point winger on the top line with McKinnon if it meant that Landiskog could move back to the second line center and make that line better.

I didn't mention desperate at all. Drouin not being worth byram is clear. He's cost controlled for his first 3 years, and will help Colorado for probably at least 8 years.

Toffoli, trochek, and zucker all have a 30 goal season, with a few 20+ goal seasons as well.

Kase got a first and a prospect, but Boston also dumped backes on them.

Monkeyful it seems your memory is as bad as your player evaluation! This is your direct quote thought I would include it to jog your memory!

"Trading byram for drouin would be a fleece not seen since sergachev got drouin. Colorado is not DESPERATE for a 50 point winger."

Byram is cost controlled making his value higher and is a great prospect. However like Caufield, Turcotte, Broberg and every other prospect out there, they are only PROSPECTS and until they play at least 10 games and we get a sense of how they handle the speed and skill of other players around the league they will never be as valuable as a proven NHL player! Just look at Puljujarvi a top 5 pick that is having a hard time making the NHL mostly due to his attitude but what about Juolevi he is another top 5 pick in the 2016 draft that has not made the NHL. Fact is top 5 prospects are not a guarantee to make the NHL let alone be an impact player, while their value is higher than other prospects, bottom 4 dmen and bottom 6 forwards their value as a prospect will never be as high as a top 6 forward or top 4 Dman with the exception of Franchise players like the Crosby's, Mathews', McDavid's and McKinnon's.
