Assuming GM decides not to throw in the towel prior to trade deadline.

Habs Dadonov

Fla: Leikonnen and 3rd rounder.

Dadonov and Kovy could form an excellent tandem on the same line. I've noticed that Kovy doesn't currently have anybody who compliments him nicely on the same.line. Dadonov and Kovy played together in the KHL.

Why does Florida even consider this lol.

Because Leikonnen is younger and plays a small solid defensive game. He can effectively kill off penalties and score 15-20 goals. I'm sure Florida's GM would be interested in him.

Ok but Dadanov plays with Hubs and Barky on the top line and scores 60-70 points a year, try again bud.

Habs: Dadonov

Fla: Poehling and 2nd rounder.

Is this proposal more appealing to Fla?

Habs desperately need another top forward to compliment Kovy. Another Russian player with high end offensive skills would fit the bill. He and Kovy might rediscover their KHL chemistry and light it up for the Habs. But, this trade should be made only, I repeat, only if Habs are still in the playoff picture by the trade deadline. Habs GM must seriously consider making this type of trade now. Otherwise, he should must trade Weber and Price to kickstart a FULL rebuild. Sacrificing Poehling will not turn out to be a regrettable decision down the road. Peohling's upside is limited to 4th or 3rd line status. He's easily replaceable via draft.
