Winnipeg has been using Wheeler, a winger, as a center due to a lack of Bryan Little (who has been declining anyway) . This would be the third straight playoffs where the Jets trade for a center; I'd say this one works out better than Hayes but falls short of what Stastny was able to do.

Jets decline because everyone knows Jets don’t make deadline deals for centres and because a minor league player and a non first round pick is way more valuable than a player that would help make the Jets a better team heading into the playoffs. Why would they want to win the cup? Sounds silly to me.

How do jets say no to this? Lol if anything Ottawa says no. Forget the 2nd wpg needs to give a 1st no question if they want pageau. He's earned that value even as a rental.
