STL- Thomas Parayko
TOR- Marner Liljgren
There is no way the blues would do this trade. I know the fans would be up in arms just the mention of this. Also the money doesn't work either.
Parayko is worth marner alone and there is no guarantee that liljgren will be half as good as he is. Thomas is looking to be a 1c and had an impressive showing in the second half of the season and the playoffs as a rookie 19 year old kid.

So let me get this straight. You think a 30 point defence man is worth Marner. Let me just remind you what Winnipeg got for Trouba, a player who is much better then Parayko. They got a first round pick and a potential top 4 defenceman.
Leafs pass on this, no chance they trade Marner for a top 4 d with no chance of being a top 2 guy in the future.

Let me just say that Pesce had better stats then Parayko last year. Is Pesce considered to be a top 2 guy? No. So should Parayko be considered a top 2 guy? No.

That is a fair trade. But I do agree the Blues don't do it because of Parayko. There is also no guarantees with Thomas.

Redwing, how does more points by Pesce in less games not as good? And +15 +/ - better than parayko. On a way worse team. Havent looked at advanced stats but explain why parankos stats are better than pesces.

Fanatic, I took it as liljgren may not be as half as good as paraynko is, as he's not proven anything as a once highly touted prospect. Trying to interpret. But I don't know.

I did watch STL and Thomas in the playoffs and his third line of Maroon-Bozak-Thomas was the best third line in the entire league imo. Far stretch to call a kid who played very well with two veteran on third line wing is a 1C.

Ok, 2 idiots disagree why a player with the 3rd best +/ - in the nhl on a bad team is not as good as a player on a cup team that is 15 +/ - worse. Has less points in more games. This site has to many homers.

Pesce was 3rd in nhl in +/ - +35, 3rd in nhl, faulk was second on canes de with +9, everyone else except de hann +1 was even or minus. That's got to say he's pretty good. Thomas rookie season at 33 points does say nothing towards being a future #1 centre. Liljgren not a for sure thing anymore but serviceable like Thomas . Which makes it marner for paryanko, which I'd say STL adds a bit cause he's been protected by peiterangelo so who knows if he could be true top pairing.

He was 19 years old and was very limited in playing time beginning of season. The kid is going to be good. Just wait and see.
