Buffalo Trades
SReinhart
Ristolainen
Cozens (WHL)
1st Round Pick 2020

Toronto Trades
Marner
Borgman (AHL)

Best fix to a Cap Space problem with a Star Player wanting more than a Team can give to stay under the Cap (Toronto) ?
Trade that Player (Marner) and get the most you can talent wise and get your Team under the Cap, yes Marner is the best Player in this Trade Proposal but if this Trade went down I do believe it would be one to talk about for years.

Thoughts ?

No from Buffalo, try Reinhart+ Risto for Marner and Lilijegreen.

More Leaf hate from Mantha. Getting really dry.

I don’t understand the point of these trades. Yeah Marner is better then Reinhart, but why sacrifice a guy who can play first line in Reinhart and a top 4 D in Risto for one dude who cap is going to be greater than both of theirs combined? It just seems like a backward move to me.

Almost rather pay the 4 future firsts comp tbh.

Wait wait wait. You want them to give up Reinhart, Risto AND Cozens who they JUST DRAFTED at 7th AND. ANOTHER 1st for Marner? MARNER? Marner is NOT McDavid. Marner is NOT Kucherov. F*** off with these joke worthy over-evaluations. I’m not trying to be mean but Pinball, there is SERIOUSLY something wrong with your head, you are so far past delusional that I can’t even fathom it.

Ok @Vertius would you rather have Eichel and Ristolainen or McDavid?
What I am getting at is Buffalo has Roster full of good players but besides Dahlin and Eichel is on the cusp of a Star Player they don't have one, what Marner brings to the Sabres is a Star Player who will get even better and he will make the Sabres better, Leafs to me have to make a move like this because having so many star players it just won't fit in the NHL Cap.
I am sure Dubas and the Leafs would hate having to do this but at the same time they really might have to.
I think it's a very fair proposal and my revised one gives more to the Sabres.

@Pinball

Don't listen to Vertius. I don't think he has had a single comment where the agree outweighed the disagree. Not sure how the Admins even allowed that comment to go through tbh.

But yeah, think it's bad for Buffalo. Value wise it might be close but that doesn't mean Buffalo does it. One step forward two steps back. Reinhart is really starting to finally pan out and fit on the first line. Even though Risto is meh, he's still like their best defender (Dahlin is still only 19). Not to mention they were really high on Cozens. Cozens projects to be a highly, highly skilled PF.

Pinball you’re asking for the moon for Marner. He would get a nice return for Toronto, but not what you’re expecting
1) Teams know Toronto is in cap trouble, they will look to take advantage not easily help them while taking worse players back
2) why would a team give up more value than 4 first round picks, if you’re asking for that much in return teams can just pay the compensation
3) they’re in the same division, the price will most likely be higher.

@ProDepth think about it like this. Either way no Matter where he signs ( except maybe Tampa or Miami because of no income taxes ) he’s signing over 10.5 million ( 4 1st round picks ) anything below leafs easily match. So if Toronto decides to trade him they’ll 100% want more then the 4 1st round picks. Why? This is because they either resign him or a team sends an offersheet which there is a 90% chance leafs match or they trade for him which the price would be extremely high because that team gets to hand pick terms of contract and have guaranteed term control.

@TyBa4

I I can’t remember ever seeing a trade proposal from you that wasn’t at least -10 on the agree/ disagree ratio. Your a clown with zero clue what you’re talking about.

A team won’t pay more than the value of 4 1st IMO. It’s either Toronto doesn’t match and they get Marner for less or Toronto matches and forces cap problems. But no point in offering a sweet heart deal like Montreal and helping Toronto out.

Vertius I almost sense anger and hostility in your response.
This is a fun sight where people think of Trade Proposals and post.
That's it, if you don't agree is one thing but to attack me without even knowing me is something different, not to defend myself but it's laughable if you really knew who I was to say there is something wrong with my head, on that note keep it clean towards others and have fun reading people's proposals.
I still believe it's a Trade Proposal that I believe could happen, we all saw Karlsson traded to SJ and being on an expiring contract and look how Ottawa got what they got, Sabres will be getting a 22yr old Star on a Team controlled contract so yes my Proposal isn't delusional as you would say, plus my second Proposal gives the Sabres more than my first.

Hey vertius if you think this package is so good then give up Pettersson for it :) ( Marner definitely currently has atleast equal value to Pettersson right now and I’d take Pettersson over this ) Anyway Marner will not be traded to a division rival. Risto is the exact opposite deffensman that the leafs need. Just an all around terrible proposal.

Value wise I’d do

Toronto: Marner, Lilijgren And 2nd 2020

Buffalo: Rienhart, Middelstad and 1st 2020.
