Apenretly Bergevin offered 7 million for 5 years to Anders Lee. Is that good? Shorter term but a little more then he's worth. Should be a 50-60 point guy for all of that tho.

Lol well Bergy snookered himself because the Canes can take all week to match that lowball offersheet so he’s got his capital tied up now.

Yea but 21 M in the first 12 month. With bonus can hurricane owner afford that? But i found it low too should have went 9.5 a year.

He’s got cap space tied up yes but two things to remember is there really any Ufas he wants to sign? And if he does he still has cap space to sign them plus he can go over the cap if he wants and clear room if aho signs.

Bergy can do what he wants, even with having offer sheeted Aho. He can go 8 .5 million over the cap in the summer wich meanshe has 13 million in cap space+ 8.5 million once Wendell matches the offer. Marc Bergevin is actually thinking this threw.

Yes and I'm sure he checked on a lot of players and just didn't want to overpay same for the players who are left if they can get a player or 2 that works for them they will sign them. If not he will look for teams in a cap crunch and make a trade that way.

I like the Aho moves no matter how it turns out. Carolina looks silly now, they're best player accepted a team friendly contract elsewhere. The bonus makes it hard for Carolina to match although they probably will. Bergevin knew what he was doing tho. Din't want to give up 2 first and more picks. Worst case MTL signs Aho for nothing in 5 years, if he signed now he might sign in 5 years too.
