Mtl: Micarron

Ott: Lazar

I'm just posting this so Ottawa fans understand that Lazar isn't worth much more then that. Please stop thinking that him and Ceci are even one km clost to value to Dushene or even Landerscog. If Ottawa wants either one of those player Chabot or Brown, maybe even both would have to be included.

Thats the bottom line. For Landerscog only one of those, a first and maybe Dzingel. For Dushene Chabot and Brown and first 2018 would do it.Not Ceci and Lazar + shitty players.Comon I'm starting to be ashamed of living in Ottawa when fans post stupid trades like that

It's not usually Ottawa fans posting those trades, based on their other posts that is. I agree with you in the respect that Lazar's value has dropped significantly and he's probably not worth much more than a 3-5th round pick right now.

Realistically no one should be posting Ottawa trades for Landy or Duchene because they would never happen anyways.

Darren Dreger said yesterday that the Sens have been getting a lot of interest in Lazar but the price is "extremely high". So take that for what it's worth and think if Ottawa would do this deal or not. They still value Lazar a lot higher than we do here.

Gotta agree with No Pain.
Lazar couldn't make the cut yet in the NHL.
Ceci is an ok player, but not an impact player.
These 2 in the same breath as Landy or Duchy or Eberle or RNH or any other top 6 forward is just silliness.
I'll add that NO ONE wants Ryan. His term is just too long unfortunately. Ok player with an unmovable contract that Luongo once reffered to as "my Contract sucks" in regards to being a tradeable asset.
I do hope Ottawa does well, but let's be realistic here. It's nice to dream but Don't be a Leafs fan that thinks they can get a great player for the leftover scraps offered up.

Duchene is not a superstar. You do not trade your top 2 prospects, one of them being the best defensive prospect out there, for anyone other than a superstar.

Don't let your frustrations with Lazar cloud your judgement.

I meant it would take Chabot and Brown to get Dushene. And it's actually makes sense for Ottawa. Brown is going to be a big second line center and Chabot will be a good top 4 Defensemen. that's the cost for a top line center who just entered his prime.

I agree that lazar is a bust and at this point would probably have similar value as yakupov when he was traded. But Ceci is a hot commodity. A young RHD. Hell, they could even flip him for something else. But Duchene's / Landeskog 's return expectancy will most likely drop near the deadline.

Although. I HIGHLY Doubt that they even move Duchene or Landeskog. they're not rushed. its not like they are UFA's or anything. so i would expect IF there were to be a move, it would be at the draft.

I also agree that it would take more than just Ceci, Lazar and a 1st for Duchene. But i don't think ottawa has the right pieces to make the trade work. Brown And Chabot is too much. and i don't think ottawa wants to move any of Chabot, White or Brown so. No go on duchene is what i think.

The most recent "proposal" I saw regarding Ottawa for Duchene was from The Score and it was Ceci, Brown (or other prospects not named Chabot or White), and a 1st. While that is a steep price to pay and I doubt Ottawa is even in on trade talks, it would be interesting to finally have a solid top-6 in Ottawa. Then maybe have Brassard or Duchy play the LW.

Nopainnogain Lazar has leadership capability and can play any role you need him to, the guy was injured at the start of the season, scratched a few times, and the games he did play were 3rd and 4th line minutes. Is he having a bad season? Yes no doubt he is but since when does 1 bad season dictate a players value? If that were the case then the most landeskog would fetch or be worth is bobby Ryan and that would be overpayment based on current production value, and age of the players involved. And Duchesne only worth a Ryan dzingle and dion Phaneuf based on this seasons stats.

Lazar true value = Just a tad less than the asking price last year for drouin when all that baby like stuff was going on when he was sent to minors and didn't want to play for them.

As for ceci your on drugs. The guy is already top 4 d and carrying a pilon right now basically playing the role of 2 defenceman on one line lol. He young and has ton of potential to get even better, put him together with someone who can actually play the position next to him and hell thrive.

True value of ceci = a little greater than the cost of an Adam Larsen.

Also note that Duchesne is currently a 2nd Line center not top line franchise guy like Mackinnon. He's in the same kind've spot bobby Ryan was in with anahiem in his last year there and the payment ottawa gave for him was almost the same and despite how I actually don't mind Ryan he's not the same since the trade. To up the cost like that for Duchesne is absurd and any Gm that saw the ottawa anahiem deal results will think twice before puckering up like that. Those kind of trades only happen once in a generation.

Ever since Lazar went to play the World Juniors, he's been playing like a junior nothing more. Someone has to spend some time getting that kid out of that man's body. If he's in a trade rumour, he should only be a throw-in.
