To ottawa :
Kevin Shattenkirk

To St. Louis :
Bobby Ryan (ottawa eats 2 million from his contract), Logan brown, a conditional 2nd rounder in 2018 (based on whether or not shattenkirk resigns)

To ottawa :
Nathan MacKinnon, 2nd or 3rd in 2017

To Colorado :
Derrick Brassard, Thomas Chabot, Curtis Lazar, 1st in 2017, Clarke macarthur

St. Louis avoids a tough decision with defence protection with Vegas draft looming, and ryan get a chance to revive his Career and get away from Gretzky expectations he's getting in Ottawa while st. Louis land top 6 guy for a decent price, a blue chip prospect and a pick.

Ottawa breaks the bank for a shot at the cup by landing the untouchable Mackinnon for the blue chip defence prospect they want, a possible blue chip prospect forward, a top 6 defensive center, and a 1st round pick, macarthur helps the cap situation work and gives depth to Colorado when he returns.

Smith Mackinnon stone
Hoffman Turris dzingle
Dziurzynski pageau white
Pyatt Kelly Neill

Karlsson methot
Shattenkirk Phaneuf
Ceci borvievski

Anderson
Condon

Ottawa takes a legit run at the cup this year.

Ottawa/ Colorado? wow

Sorry, but i'm ashamed to have you as a fellow sens fan. Dziurzynski plays in the DEL, not even in the organization anymore. Also, Ottawa is NOT going to give up Logan Brown for a UFA, or at all for that matter. Same goes for Chabot. That second trade is just sooo bad for both teams. Ottawa gives up too many assets and will have too many holes in the roster (They have enough as is) and Mackinnon Is Untouchable.

that is not a cup winning team when zack smith is your 1st line RW

Stone and Smith already have killer chemistry giving smith quite a bit of stat padding confidence and adding a franchise player like Mackinnon to that mix would only strengthen it while Turris Hoffman and dzingle have shown brilliance together as a 2nd unit would be stellar.

Add that to the fact Karlsson and methot have carried the team for years and bringing in shattenkirk and pairing him with Pheneuf to quarterback the second unit would take a lot of attention away from Karlsson or risk opening things up for shattenkirk to go on a tear.

The move for Mackinnon would give shattsy more incentive to take a pay cut to stay in Ottawa to pad his stats and go for a cup.

And it doesn't have to be Dziurzynski we could bring up Nick Paul for all I care lol but no sense in breaking up the killer checking line of Kelly Pyatt and Neil especially when pageau is versatile enough to play with any one.

Toast cbj sorry to tell you but ottawa definnately can make a run for the cup with that line up. They'd have the best defence in the league no doubt with a solid 4 lines led by a franchise guy and a great defensive catch. Boucher would have a field day with that roster.

Lol Mtl is better the lineup of yours. You can add Crosby in this lineup and you still won't have a cup wining team. Ottawa is not a playoff team. Theur way to frale to make it. Mtluse to be like that but with Where, Shaw, Emelin, and Radu playing with intensity and roughness the cup is area BABY

The trades are far-fetched but not as bad as you saying sens would be a true cup contender. Or that they have the best D in the league! That's unbelievable. Take that lineup and do player comparisons top to bottom against Chicago, Washington, San Jose and say they're a legit contender.

The Sens have a good young team, and are under radar, but they are not far off to be a contender.

No to both.
Ottawa will have to buy out Ryan. Contract is too long for anyone to eat.

Only way Ottawa see's Nate is if Karlsson goes the other way. Sorry

Shattenkirk did say that he would come to Ottawa unless they meant to say that Ottawa was not on the list he wanted to be traded to.

You're mentioning line combos the sens haven't used for weeks (when they were .500 earlier this month)

They line up like this now:

Smith-Brassard-Stone
Dzingel-Turris-Ryan
Hoffman-Pageau-Pyatt
Lazar-Kelly-Neil

So everything you are saying about lines makes no sense.

The Sens already have $14 million committed to just two of their defenseman, they have no need to go out and spend another $6-7 million on Shattenkirk. Because of that they may as well not gut their organizational depth in either trade.

The Sens probably have little to no interest in signing Shattenkirk to a long term deal given that they have a prospect defenceman who just showed he may well be one of the best prospects in hockey.

They aren't giving up guys who are going to cost them $1-2 million while on their entry level deals/ pre-arb years right when they are figuring out how many zeroes Erik Karlsson is going to have in his next deal.

The way I see it as a guy that goes to 40 Sens games a year is that they would be better off acquiring a Vanek/ Parenteau/ Vrbata type forward who can play some solid minutes down the stretch.

In 3 years the Sens are going to be paying Karlsson a whole load of money, will have to come up with another starting goal tender and begin thinking about the long term future of Hoffman, Stone, Ceci, Pageau and all the other players they have drafted and so far signed to rather good deals.

Sens don't make either trade, probably have more interest in Landeskog given the asking price is a lot lower than MacKinnon's would be.

That line up could definitely compete with Chicago Washington and Pittsburgh no doubt about it. Getting outhe of our zone would be a peice of cake with the best defenseman in the league on 1 line and another top 10 defenceman on the next. And offence wouldn't be as tough to produce with the depth wed have on 4 lines with a franchise center added to the mix.

Fair Trade4all Karlsson way to much on his own for Mackinnon. Besides that, that trade is more than enough for nate, Chabot is projected to be a top 2 offensive defenceman for a good reason and with everything else involved that's an over payment for a guy who's been above average at best since his rookie year. He's not putting up the same stats as guysoon you're putting him on a peddastool withe. Not saying he's bad just not worth as much as guys like Crosby toews Kane mcdavid etc.

And sens1 those line combo would not be out dated. Obviously Mackinnon would be taking brassard spot while with Ryan shipped out the clear line promotion goes to Hoffman while a couple call ups join pageau and Pyatt jumps back with Neil.

Ryan $5 million (5 million going to st. Louis as we retain 2.25)
MacArthur $4.25 million
Ceci $3.25 million
Lazar $0.825 million
Brassard $4.25 million

Even if nate and shattsy both costed us $8 million a peice we could afford it and save between $1 and $2 million so it wouldn't hurt the cap.

I'm more than confident in Ottawa drafting ability to replace the kids we lose in the trade.
