Oil: Patrick Russell (minor player) + 4th

Caps: Connolly

Connolly is slowly losing his opportunity to play in the NHL, and I think he's almost finished in Washington. Therefore he will be really cheap.
I think maybe with a change of scenery for Connolly he could maybe find his game again with more opportunity in Edmonton. He's big, shoots right, and plays RW. Something oilers could use.

Might be worth the short from Edm maybe a 5 tho.

@McJesusHabs

Great comment, totally worth it because on this website the difference between a 4th and a 5th is soooo huge, right?

Not bad McJ, if I were the Caps I'd probably give Connolly away for that.

More reasonable than my trades

Yeah if oilers can turn Kassian and Maroon to decent players, I'm sure a former 6th overall can maybe do the same too. This would be nice if it could happen.

Seems like that's always the thought with connolly. When he got traded to the Bruins it was thought with a change of scenery he could relish into the scorer he was projected to be, especially playing next to bergy and marchy, didn't work. Signed in washington and i saw some blogs and posts about maybe that will be his spark and he'll get going, now the same is being said in this post. I think connollys at best an average 4th line checker, worth a 6th or 7th guys done nothing in the league.
