The pick becomes a 1st if yak puts up 40+ points

I still think yak can turn his career around, plus yakapov and galchenyuk put up some big points in sarnia. I don't want to see yakapov go but he deserves a fresh start Dallas Eakins didn't help to start with and its been down hill since he got here.

A 2nd or Juulsen would be nice.
But having a condition of getting 40 points from a former 1st overall is pretty embarrassing, if it should turn into a 1st round then it should be atleast 65+ points.

@mcjesus Christ originally I had it becoming a 1st if he gets 60+ points but even if he did turn it around I can't see him putting up more then 50 points this season.

65+ deserves more than a 1st though. I don't know it's not bad I guess. But yeah Juulsen would be ideal.

Agree that galchenyuk could help make yak more comfortable. So far he is anything but. I will repeat, yak rows the boat out there, splashes around, makes a bunch of waves but the boat doesn't go anywhere.

Juulsen has to be part of the discussion.

Such baloney that Yak couldn't get a 3rd. Every single team in the league would trade a 3rd for Yak. I think a conditional pick has some merit. Yak would round out Montreals top 6 nicely. We know when he has chemistry with a player he can put up strong numbers.

juulsen is not that good, if MTL wants to add to scoring and see if Yak can bounce back by playing with Gal then they will have to pay for it. Still a number one overall pick with some upside despite some bad play.
