I think Calgary would consider that trade.

However, I don't think Stamkos is going to sign in TO. I think it's possible, but given the moves they made and the direction they are going, he's not a great fit.

Why would stamkos leave a contender to play for the leafs? He could sign a 3-5 year deal in Tampa now while they're competitive and then go to leafs for his long term retirement contract. Just don't see him wanting to leave a good thing to go to the focus of the media fishbowl in TO just yet.

Stamkos will never be a leaf, don't care that its his home town. He wants to win, and to do that you stay far away from toronto. Also better for every star in the league to stay away from the hell that is the fans and media of toronto, they've done pretty well chasing away the last few.

I agree Stamkos should stay away from Toronto if he wants to win but please tell me which stars they've chased away. Kessel was chased away deservingly and will be by the Penguins too. Sundin refused to leave Toronto causing them to loose out big, but I respect him for wanting to stay with the team he loved. Gilmour was traded and eventually came back to have his name up in the rafters and I believe he owns a bar in Toronto. Wendel came back too. Maybe I'm missing a few like you say?
