- Rumours are teams don't want to throw around 1sts for rentals anymore. Hamhuis is one of the top D man available and would put Washington over the top.

- Carrick gives the Canucks a much needed defensive prospect. They also pick up a nice pick

- Hamhuis would have to waive his NTC which assuming he does.

I'd say a conditional 1st if WSH makes the Finals is fair. If not it's pretty much picks 56-60 and a meh prospect. What I'm saying is I think Canucks can do better but it makes sense.
