ANA: Fowler, Cogliano

OTT: Hoffman, Wiercioch, 3rd

This is how I see it: Fowler is much better than wiercioch
Hoffman is muh better than Cogliano. Hoffman and Cogliano are pretty even I'd say and Cogliano is slightly better than Cogliano but the difference isn't bigger than a 3rd. Wiercioch and Cogliano both need a change.

1.) 28 Dec 2015 03:55:05
Yeah I agree, Cogliano is slightly better then Cogliano.

2.) 28 Dec 2015 04:21:27
Totally disagree. Cogliano could'nt hold Cogliano's jock.

3.) 28 Dec 2015 05:09:59
If Cogliano meets Cogliano and they come in contact with one another, does the universe explode? It does, doesn't it?

For the protection of the universe and all that encompasses it, I'm going to have to say no to this trade proposal. Too risky.

4.) 28 Dec 2015 08:38:48
chirps logic was very clear here, have to agree with him, keep cogliano as far away from cogliano as we can.

5.) 28 Dec 2015 16:14:11
Except for the extremely confusing reasoning it doesn't seem half bad. Sens might rather a younger middle 6 player, would Hagelin or Maroon make more sense or no?

OTT: Cowen (15% retained), Perron, 3rd

NJD: 1st.

minkl22

1.) 03 Dec 2015 09:39:03
David Perron?
The most valuable asset going to NJ is the third and they're giving up their 1st which will probably be top 10.

2.) 03 Dec 2015 11:16:24
I like Ottawa, and this made me laugh. I keep imagining Cowan and Dion Phaneuf on the same team and they decide to go out on Halloween together dressed as traffic cones.

3.) 03 Dec 2015 12:41:41
Phaneufs actually been really solid this year with less ice time and is hitting a lot more to.

4.) 03 Dec 2015 19:21:56
Celine Phaneuf is a pylon

5.) 03 Dec 2015 21:26:48
@Boris Phaneuf is top 20 in both points a shots amongst defenceman, top 30 in hits, not a minus player and has a positive SAT.

Ottawa: Zibanejad, Prince, Cowen, 3rd

Columbus: Johanson, 4th

How much sense this trade makes is related to people knowledge of Zibanejad, huge potential however he's developing slowly.

Since Johanson has already gotten time on the fourth line under Tortorella, and I don't think its going to get much better knowing who the coach is, I believe they should trade him before he loses some value.

Prince is a good prospect, Cowen could use a new team however he has a bad contract, but Columbus could live with that. I believe that because of his bad contract, cowen is worth about a 2nd or a 3rd.

Huge overpayment by Ottawa, jackets would add.

2.) 25 Nov 2015 16:06:58
This is not even close to enough for Johansen. He's just playing through a rough patch as the Jackets are struggling. He has a ton of potential

Remember Boston giving up Seguin? Columbus doesn't want the same to happen.

3.) 25 Nov 2015 18:47:28
Zibanejad: 221GP 46G 68A 0.52/PPG

Johansen: 291GP 77G 106A 0.62/PPG

Considering Johansen is a year older, this Sens fan is willing to wait on Zibanejad, he was consistently in the Sens top 6 last year and continues to improve on a yearly basis. While Johansen would be a nice addition, is he really going to bring much more than Zibanejad considering this year he is playing on around the same level as Johansen?

Thats not considering the fact the Sens also give up Prince, Cowen and a third.

Massive overpayment from the Sens for a player we basically already have.

4.) 25 Nov 2015 19:04:56
I wouldn't want to give up Zibanejad. Also I wouldn't say he's developing slowly, he's been developing his whole game. He does all the little things right and has offensive upside to go along with his 200ft game. No question Johansen is a better player offensively, but Zibanejad is or will be a all around better player. Also it's clear from last nights game against Dallas, Ottawa doesn't need more offence, they need better defence.

5.) 26 Nov 2015 01:07:00
My original trade had Ottawa giving a little less but I thought people would complain, and honestly I think getting rid of Cowen is making our defence better. Not that he can't make it work anywhere else, but this year he really made me lose hope.

OTT: Craig Anderson + Prince + 3rd (2015)

ANA: Wisniewski + Fleischmann

Craig is an elite goalie in the league and should still be for the next few years, at least until Andersen or Gibson is able to handle playoff teams like Chicago, LA, Blues, Preds and the upcoming Oilers. They give up some of the players they took to make a run, now giving them back after a good run, they get what they actually need, get younger and make some cap room for ufas or even to resign beleskey.

Bryan Murray wants an mid-aged top 6 foward and I think fleischmann could do the job, if he doesn't Hoffman will. Wisniewski will make Ottawa's defence much stronger. However if they do make the trade they'll have to do everything in they're power to get rid of bad contracts. Start with Legwand, Philips (not bad but unuseful), Cowen and only if they can: Greening

If Ottawa refuses, anaheim can push Ottawas pick further.

If Anaheim refuses, they can look for whatever they need in Ottawas overloaded roster.

This is a joke right?

OTT: Gorges

BUF: Cowen + 5th

Yes Cowen isn't cheap but might as well take his contract while the rest of the team is on entry level contract, and sign him lower later.
Cowen has much more potential than Gorges, and will be around longer, however he didn't establiahed himself as a dominant top 4 yet. With some big minutes in buffalo, this trade could haunt the sens down the road, however he has no futur in ottawa so maybe not.
Gorges would fix Ottawas D-Lines
Methot-Karlsson
Wiercoch-Gorges
Philips*-Ceci
The 5th rounder is only bcz of Cowens contract, its not like if Gorges is free neither.

1.) 23 May 2015 09:49:48
Buffalo says no thank you, pretty certain they love having him on the blue line along with no Bogo. Goerges is great for all the young guys coming in. buff has a lot of Cowens coming in as well. Goerges is way more valuable to them.

2.) 23 May 2015 13:12:19
Along with now* Bogo.

3.) 23 May 2015 19:51:12
To yep, IMO the Murray's may consider that trade. BUF gets younger and OTT gets some experience. Instead consider:
Gorges + 5th for Cowen + 4th
Maybe too much for Gorges.

4.) 24 May 2015 02:31:25
Buffalo doesn't need to get younger at all. They are very young as it is and value Goerges in the locker room big time.

I actually think Ryan is worth more than the pick. Although he lost scoring touch since coming from Anaheim, his playmaking abilities and him actually playing defense now actually makes up for it. Boosted stats by Getzlaf and Perry aren't there anymore but he did good last season.

Ottawa's goalie situation is alarming but not catastrophic, Anderson has been good even for his age, he's been playing like a starter and that's all they can ask for, yes he's old but he's not playing like it. Best case scenario, he has to perform until they get an other guy who can start in net for a good 60games.

I don't believe sens would do a one-one player trade in Ryan vs Gauthier or Ryan vs Keller or Ryan vs Sergachyov or Ryan vs McCleod, list goes on.

I agree that would be a huge overpayement for Eriksson oh my.

Hoffman is going to resign the big contract, something along the line of 6years 6m per year OR rfa 1year deal. On don't want him to get 6m but I do believe he will and I think Boucher will make him worth that. Hoffman can do things at a level that very least can do in the league. Being a cap team, Ottawa tends not to go get those types of players, so just pleasekeep the ones you already have.

-Hamonic is only moving out west
-Although I don't like Daley I would be fine with Ottawa giving up a 2nd for him
-I hate Cowen and would love the last trade, however with Greening already being a cap dump, they wouldn't take Cowen with his bad contract on top of that

I do like the trade! Yes its a lot for Erikson, but its worth dumping money? And Chara doesn't have much years left, Boychuk and Hamilton are gone, Cowen would be an, I believe, respectable addition, and you add a second in there so ya!
