Washington needs another centre and the also have an excess of D-men, so I propose the following:
Toronto acquires: Mike Green
Washington acquires: Tyler Bozak
Obviously not straight up but as a base for a deal. This would put the Leafs over the cap, however, so I would also have the Leafs trade Cody Franson to a team who needs defence. Assuming the Leafs only got back picks/prospects for Franson, I would see the lineup looking like this:
JVR-Kadri-Kessel
Booth-Santorelli-Lupul
Komarov-Kontiola-Clarkson
Winnik-Holland-Frattin
Ex. Bodie
Phaneuf-Green
Gardiner-Robidas
Rielly-Polak
Ex. Granberg
Bernier
Reimer
Would leave the Leafs with just under 2 mill in cap space.
1.) This makes the leafs worse.the leafs need help(quality) at center so moving the best they got doesn't make sense
2.) Moving the best they got? I never said anything about moving Kadri. Bozak is certainly not their best centre, he's only on the top line because of the myth that he makes Kessel better or some BS like that.
Bozak's value will never be higher than it is now. Now is the time to sell. The advanced stats guys that the Leafs are hiring will be telling Nonis the same thing.
3.) This would make the Leafs have the worst core of centers in the league. Awful
4.) Pff As a leafs fan I'm having a hard time not calling you a butthole.bozak is good,not great by any means but moving him creates a bigger hole at number1center. I think green can bounce back some but toronto says no.might as well trade kessel and bernier too and chase mcdavid right

9.) I wouldn't mind seeing Berglund in a Leafs jersey. Big body guy who can play at the 2C. But I don't know what we woulf give up for him.
10.) I'm not bozaks biggest fan but he's a better all around player than kadri.id agree his value will never be higher and he's not a true 1 center but bozak is a better option on 1st line and a better player than kadri IMO
11.) I agree with drgonzo. Bozak won more face offs in the first game than Kadri did all year. Bozak is one of their top penalty killers. Kadri is better at taking penalties and blind siding guys. If Kadri ever matures, you may have a case. I'd take Bozak.
12.) Words like certainty and facts should be banned from this site.at least until some of you learn what they mean.
13.) I Wouldn't be shocked if kadri figures it out someday.he has to have a big year and he will IMO but until he does bozak is the man.

Could certainly see Reimer going to Winnipeg and I think Franson could be packaged with him. Thinking a defenceman will be coming back to the Leafs, possibly Enstrom?
1.) Kadri and Reimer to Jets for Byfuglien and a 3rd. Unreal trade for both teams.
2.) We need a third line winger, I liked the frattin pickup but it would be nice to get Mike frolek
I wouldn't mind this trade though, it would be nice to see franson go, He doesn't fit on the leafs, I truly believe he could be a top 4 defenceman on the right team Toronto is too crowded for him though.

Secondly I could see a deal like this coming but my guess is the leafs would target bogo on the backend, it would have to be reimer, franson + though to get it done. could also see the leafs being interested in kane too but I dunno if they would have the assets required to get both

last time I posted that trade, everyone told me buff is worth way more than kadri, which I don't agree with. All I know is that leafs fans want kadri gone for some reason, so I picture them getting a big top six forward back idk

Leafs lose big time on the first trade. Nylander also isn't ready for the top line. If anything it'd be JVR/Johansen/Kane.
