Easy no from Carolina.

toronto : nylander 4th and zaitsev

montreal: weber, 3rd, byron.

1.) 13 Nov 2018 23:05:38
toronto would be foolish to take on weber's contract.

2.) 13 Nov 2018 23:09:15
retaining how much of weber.

3.) 13 Nov 2018 23:46:57
Nylander has more value than Weber with him being old, just all the time and his awful contract. Leafs pass.

4.) 14 Nov 2018 04:47:11
If the throw-ins were better, Leafs could consider taking on Weber and then sending him to Robidas Island. But sonce Montreal just named Weber captain, I doubt he’s going anywhere anytime soon.

5.) 14 Nov 2018 06:05:31
Ok thanks leafs gm it's so refreshing to know the leafs might consider taking weber from us.

6.) 14 Nov 2018 14:36:43
@habby

I doubt very much Dubas would make that trade unless there was some sort of overwhelming return coming our way. If you wanted to send Kotkaniemi, Juulsen, and 1st our way, and we dump Marleau on you, may get discussion started.

I’m not trying to just shoot down the proposal like everyone else here. I’m actually trying to offer suggestions and try to improve the offer and get discussion going is all.

7.) 14 Nov 2018 16:17:52
Yeah maybe it's better to not even get a conversation started then lol.

8.) 14 Nov 2018 17:18:25
That’s just so typical Habby. Not just of you, but in general. Three guys post the obvious, that no one in their right mind would take on Weber’s contract. Not one of them suggest an alternative. I don’t want to jump on the bandwagon and bash the proposal, and chose to encourage discussion, and get criticized for it. It’s a rumors and discussion forum. Simple one sentence negative responses hardly even merit the time to write and require no thought whatsoever. A proper discussion, regardless of the merit of the proposal, is what encourages people to contribute.

9.) 14 Nov 2018 18:11:34
Ok then the leafs need a right handed dman weber is that. But you think we should have to give up weber byron kotkaniemi juulsen and 1st which could be as high as 1st overall for marleau and an unsigned nylander who wants more then he's worth. go back to bed. Fact is we don't want to get rid of weber and for sure don't want to do the leafs any favours lol.

10.) 14 Nov 2018 19:04:20
So what would you siggest instead? I mean, unloading Weber is doing you guys a huge favor, not the other way around. You’re a smart man. You must have thought of a few ideas of how to get rid of him I’m sure. There must be some price that you would be willing to pay to get out from under that boat anchor of a contract. A feal between Leafs and Habs may not be realistic, but there are other teams tgat have the cap space available.

11.) 14 Nov 2018 21:18:51
The only way unloading weber would do us a favour is if he continues to be injury prone like he has been the last year. Based on the rest of his career I see no reason to think that will be the case. So no unloading a top pair dman is not a favour or even an option. We will just wait a few more weeks for him to return and keep him. Thanks for worrying about our payroll but unlike some teams we have lots of cap space. This year and going forward.

12.) 15 Nov 2018 02:35:58
The only reason Leafs have cap issues is because we got so many damn good players on the team.

13.) 15 Nov 2018 04:14:27
I wasn't really pointing the finger solely at the leafs a lot of teams are tight against the cap. Habs are not one of them so they have no need to just give good players away or add other good players just to get rid of them. it would be actually quite foolish to even consider doing that or think that they would.

14.) 15 Nov 2018 05:09:14
Nobody in their roght mind would want to take on Weber Habby, and you know it. Possibly the worst trade Bergevin has made, and there have been many, you guys are stuck with him for eight more years, until he is 41 or crippled, whichever comes first. Talk him up all you want, we all know the truth: 33 years old and just missed the equivalent of an entire season with major knee operation. I have a hard time believing he will be the same player he was. He might have another quality season or two left in him, but it’s likely he will spin into a rapid decline long before that contract is finished.

I guess we just have to agree to disagree on this one. You know Habs far better than I do. I’ll take your word for it that Weber is still going to be one of the best defensemen in the game. Only time will tell.

15.) 15 Nov 2018 05:13:47
Btw. In case you didn’t notice, we actually had a pretty good discussion on the subject, which was exactly what I was hoping for at the beginning of the day. So I just wanted to thank you for the conversation. Regardless of whether we (or anyone else) agrees or disagrees, this forum is about discussing rumors and trades and all subjects related to hockey. You really are one of the better contributors on the site. Thanks for taking it easy on me today.

avs : cale makak + patrick nemeth

habs : jeff petry + cam hillis +4th2019.

habsmtl

1.) 07 Nov 2018 21:24:09
If ure talking about Cale Makar no way from Aves lol. U are talking about him? Petry dosnt get u a psossible future nunber 1 D.

2.) 08 Nov 2018 02:01:56
Avs definitely don’t need old man Petry.

3.) 08 Nov 2018 02:22:28
Cale Makar?

Hard, hard no. Makar may not be guarranteed, but he has the potential to become a #1 dman in the future. No way Colorado trades him for anything short of another elite level prospect/ young player.

4.) 08 Nov 2018 12:20:51
The idea that the Aves would consider moving Cale Maker right now is delusional.

5.) 08 Nov 2018 18:12:28
The most delusional part of suggesting the Aves would trade Makar right now is its proposed for a 30 years old!

montreal : tomas tatar+ jaret tyscka

LA kings: 2nd pick2019+ akil thomas.

habsmtl

1.) 06 Nov 2018 23:49:45
Detroit got a 1st, 2nd, 3rd for Tatar. So I don’t believe LA is paying enough here. And not sure if Kings can afford him anyway unless they move salary out as well. A cap dump of some soet would be necessary to make this work.

2.) 07 Nov 2018 00:38:20
Thats just what the kings need lmao.

3.) 07 Nov 2018 02:54:22
I heard good things about Thomas but I don't think a kid who was drafted in the second rd just last year is going to fetch Tatar who is showing to be very prolific with mtl. No thank u I want to keep my Tatar sauce.

4.) 07 Nov 2018 05:58:25
LA should be selling not buying.

habs : paccioretty + benn

pittsburgh: sprong +1st * conditional if patches sign, if he doesn’t sign pens send a 2nd.

habsmtl

1.) 21 Aug 2018 14:10:11
If that's the return the habs are going to get, I think they're going to hold on to Pacioretty and try to re sign him

2.) 21 Aug 2018 15:28:55
Pens accept.

3.) 21 Aug 2018 21:00:43
Umm cap? Pens have roughly 2.5 mil in cap space patch at 4.5 Weber at 1.1, pens would have to include say hagelin to make it work.

4.) 22 Aug 2018 17:38:53
I guess this works for the Habs since they just stocked up on Center prospects.

There may be cap concerns but this is fair for Patches as a rental.

Overall a good proposal.
