I'm starting to think Montreal fans are becoming the most delusional on this site.

2.) 22 Jun 2015 16:04:20
Why on earth would the leads give up a 3rd round pick in rebuilding stage and only give up lupul and have to take in 1 bad contract in parenteau and add another defense like Gilbert. Bad idea for leafs

3.) 23 Jun 2015 18:03:05
I'm a Habs fan and I'm agreeing with the Leafs' fans replies. as much as it pains me to say. Leafs wouldn't do that, they are looking for youth not some other teams' cap dumps.

Habs offseason moves:
-Make galchenyuk the #2centre and find players to help him produce more than 70 points
-give tinordi a real chance to play full season in the NHL
-keep giving AHL experience to the best prospects:sherbak, mccarron, hudon, andrighetto, carr, dietz, thrower,Lernout
- Buyout parenteau

Trades
Col: alex tanguay, Jamie mgginn
Habs: markov, gilbert,1st round 2015
Mtl: plekanek
Chi: sharp

Lineup
Pacioretty-desharnais-gallagher
tanguay-galchenyuk-sharp
mcginn-eller-weise
prust-de la rose-smith-pelly
beaulieu-subban
emelin-petry
tinordi-pateryn

markov and tanguay both aging, habs and avalanche swap talented players at the position of need for each team. COL gets a mentor to barrie and Johnson, and depth with gilbert while MTL gets a vet who can mentor and play with a young centre in galchenyuk as he did for Duchene and oreilly. For one year and a 60 points season guarantee, Plekanek gives hawks a replacment for b.richards and vermette, both UFA. In Sharp, a player who has played under Bergevin, MTL gets a Stanley cup winner vet who brings some scoring and winning pedigree.

1.) 14 Jun 2015 22:31:44
Galchenyuk won't get over 70 points this year. In the future, yes. He isn't ready yet. Plus second liners don't usually get that high of a point total.

2.) 14 Jun 2015 23:04:47
Why? Just why? Would Chicago trade Sharp for Plekanek when they have cap isseus and are looking to trade him for draftpicks and prospects and the last thing they wanna do is take back any real cap?

3.) 14 Jun 2015 23:31:31
Wtf. Tanguay has been in colorado for 2 years. He didn't help those 2 at all. And why throw in a 1rst markov is way better then tanguay. Watch some hockey before writing.

4.) 15 Jun 2015 00:10:05
how many number 2 centers are 70 point players?

5.) 15 Jun 2015 00:51:55
I don't think you Hab fans get it. Its not Plekanec for Sharp, its relatvely no salary coming back for Sharp. Chicago wants to dump his salary, not bring in another player who has relatively the same cap hit

6.) 15 Jun 2015 01:14:59
Chicago politely hangs up. lol You wouldn't get Sharp's dirty laundry for that.

7.) 15 Jun 2015 01:15:34
DD your #1 center? Hmmmm.

8.) 15 Jun 2015 02:10:16
Why so much for Tanguay and McGinn. Drop the 1st add a later pick if any

9.) 15 Jun 2015 03:19:39
In what world is plecanec for sharp fair??

10.) 15 Jun 2015 04:38:30
Plekanec and sharp rnt equal, use tinordi or someone on the blueline

11.) 15 Jun 2015 04:42:35
Tanguay? a big no thanks.

besides Markov has a no trade clause and won't waive it. Plek aslo has NTC

12.) 15 Jun 2015 04:42:40
Why would habs do the Colorado deal?!?!

13.) 15 Jun 2015 04:59:47
Galchenyuk more than 70 points?! Dream on
Jesus, you do realize the main reason Chi would trade Sharp, right? to shed cap money, not to basically call it a wash. even if Plechanek only has one more year left on deal. sharp has 2 years left, and is WAY more valuable then Pleck. Wow

14.) 15 Jun 2015 13:53:06
Sharp is good. but to be honest , with the centermen the Habs have. I'd rather keep Pleks . And with the Hawks needing to dump salary, you'd have to give up some good prospects . and Montreal has cap issues I'm pretty sure . the Markov. Tanguay trade. no. didn't we have Tanguay.? Ya. it was pretty forgettable.

1.) 19 May 2015 20:12:40
Sherbak & Hudon need some seasoning in AHL, also, not clear Habs can resign Petry. Mccarron is more NHL ready

Why Thornton? he's a playoff choker, not what Habs want in a No.1 centre

Habs better off waiting a season and going after Kopitar as a UFA

2.) 19 May 2015 23:43:12
maybe hudon or sherbak need some seasoning in AHL, time will tell, stillz the lack of offense in the lineup will accelerate their NHL debut. LA needs kopitar big time in the west.Tell me a team in the league that will let go a two time stanley cup champ as their number 1 center. Plus he's relatively young and still in his prime.

Thornton has never played with a norris, a hart or a vezina, how can you call him a playoff choker. In a team first concept like MTL, Thornton can still have 2-3 years of good hockey. He brings size and powerlay abilities, things that plekanec and desharnais can't bring.

3.) 23 May 2015 12:51:04
I wouldn't mind seeing Thornton in Montreal only because he deserves to be in a contending team, but also, with that said, I respect Thornton over the years because he always somehow got negative attention on him. Thornton is not a choker, he never has been. Even when he's not scoring, he's doing what Crosby, Malkin, Toews, Kane, Ovechkin, etc do, they play a full shift, they don't just circle the offensive zone, and produce, they produce everwhere else. Thornton got the name a choker because everyone on the team wasn't scoring and somehow we expect our captain at the time to get all the goals and assists himself. Haha what a joke. Believe me, he isn't a choker, and he is not a pushover, very passionate, still elite centre.

MTL: markov
Avs: oreilly

MTL: 1 st round 2015
TOR: franson

Pacioretty-plekanek-parenteau
Oreilly-desharnais-sekac
Galchenyuk-Eller-Gallagher
Prust-malhotra-weise
Bournival

Subban-beaulieu
franson-emelin
Gilbert-gonchar
Weaver
Price/tokarski

Avs needs a solid D to get in the playoffs MTL needs a young top 6 forward to be a Stanley cup contender the next five years, leafs are tanking and franson is not resigning there
Thoughts?

habs

1.) O'Reilly for a retirement package?

2.) As a UFA rental, franson isn't worth a 1st rounder, maybe a 3rd rounder

3.) @Boris - even if he had some term left, he's not worth a 1st IMO

4.) Too much for a pending UFA. Just take a look at what teams got for their pending UFA last season, it was way less than that.

5.) Bagels you are so wrong. A team making a playoff push would give up 1st for Franson. However I can see a prospect and a 2nd or 3rd being the return the Leafs get.

6.) 30 Jan 2015 18:52:35
Tomas Kaberle a pending ufa was traded for a first round draft pick conditional second and a good prospect.

Franson is a 26 years old, and a very good offensive D man I am sure Franson could get more than a third or 2nd rounder. Not saying Franson will get the same return as Kaberle but maybe a good prospect and a decent pick.

7.) Franson will fetch a 2nd and a prospect, Aves don't want your senior citizen , who's one good hit away from retirement for O'Reilly, keep on dreamin habs fans.

8.) I wouldn't trade anything to mtl not even hockey pucks

9.) Markov has more points than ORielly this season and he's a defenceman, Avs need to add a 1st rounder to even it out

10.) @bagel, by that logic then you'll like this trade.
Galchenyuk
for
Marleau
Marleau has more points so this is a good trade right bagel.

MTL: desharnais, beaulieu, parenteau, gonchar
WIN: byfuglien, frolik

MTL: 1st round, plekanek, fucale
COL: Eric stall

Pacioretty- galchenyuk-Gallagher
Frolik-Eric stall-sekac
Prust-Eller-andrighetto
Bournival-malhotra-weise

Markov-subban
Emelin-byfuglien
Allen-Gilbert
Weaver

Price-tokarski

Thoughts?

habs

1.) First one is very bad, second one is bad.

2.) Winnipeg gets worse with this trade and not even close to enough for Staal.

3.) Stall on the second line. Are u kidding me?

4.) Too much for Stall, he's past his prime and is way over paid/cap hit

5.) Also, I think Stall plays for Carolina not Colorado

6.) Also, Staal has a NTC.

7.) 28 Dec 2014 19:52:51
CAR is tanking and would welcome young talents, WIN is in the hunt in the west wihout scoring many goals due to tons of injuries and lack of offensive power. Stall is slowing down and byfuglien has shown that he can be a great complementary player while failing to be a top gun at both forward or defense. Byfuglien ain't a top20D in the league I don't know why the price is too high

8.) Reason being is Gonchar is almost useless now , parenteau is a underachiever , Desharnais wouldn't be very affective in the west and Beaulieu is a good prospect but winnipeg probably doesn't want to wait 3 years for him to become a average stay at home defenseman.

9.) Oh ya and for Staal , he would instantly become Montreal's #1 centre, he's on a crappy team but he's still Eric Staal so how is plekanec decent 2 way player a late 1st rnd pick and Fucale enough? Would habs fans want to trade Pacioretty for Higgins , Markstrom and Gaunce cause it's almost the same in trade value

10.) 30 Dec 2014 08:40:09
Gonchar is playing an average of 20 minute a game, while parenteau is underachieving hie has managed to get the Habs extra points in the shootout, people who are saying tha desharnais can't play in the west are bizerk, check the size and style of play of guys like perreault, RNH. Beaulieu is playing top4 minutes and his offensive upside is greater than the likes of current or prospect Dman in WIN except the likes of a morrissey or trouba. As for Eric stall u do have solid points still he's not the player his use to be

The only way this works for Montreal is if you switch yakupov for either klefbom or RNH. if oilers are so desperate for PK the return for Montreal has to be greater than an injury prone hall and an elite prospect who has yet prove his status as a 1st overall pick.

Edler is a nice defenseman however i don't see the fit with the habs. we need a scorer, plus, I don't see the Canucks trading a virtanen or a sedin. The only players that would make sense from the habs perpsective If indeed we are talking about the 9th overall pick that would be attractive for the rebuilding Canucks.

Beaulieu isn't moving for something less than a deal bringing a big top2 C, otherwise his the replacement for markov, he'll be playing with PK for the next 10 years. Sharp is old and rundblad wouldn't even make the top 9 D for the habs. loll I wouldn't even trade Gilbert for rundblad

SMH to posts by oilers fan. green is an older and more experienced Justin Schultz. even with mcdavid I don't think u guys would even win a playoff series with both green and Schultz in your top 4. Try to sign Cody franson instead because Jones isn't going anywhere, the kid will be top 10Dman in the league in two years

If I'm the oilers I'm asking for bowey a 1st and 2n Rd 2015 for Eberle. Alzner is way overrated in my mind, he personnifies the caps good but not great. good 2way defenseman who can log minutes, bouwmeester like, blues and caps= Overrated and underachievers
