2.) 19 Jul 2018 23:47:36
I dunno by that dobson look better then joulevi canuck need a rhd but ladds on one of the worse contract in the nhl and sutter get just as many point as ladd last couple years and gagner this just makes more room for there young players and gets them the future top 4 rhd.

4.) 29 Jul 2018 22:03:06
Canucks sign seguin to play behind Bo Horvat?! Lol.

5.) 30 Jul 2018 15:07:01
Oh, and seguin leaves Dallas with no state tax and a better team to sign in Vancouver without Boeser being on his wing? Getting to play with Brock is the biggest chip Canucks could use to attract a good Centreman.

6.) 31 Jul 2018 23:09:43
leafs lines 2020

federov mario jagr
roenick yzerman selanne
oates gilmour lafontaine
francis sakic bure

pronger lindstrom
coffey bourque
housley murphy

gretz would never play for the leafs.

7.) 01 Aug 2018 17:58:12
None of these guys would have played for the leafs when they were actually playing. Except for gilmour lol.

8.) 02 Aug 2018 04:17:04
Well Habby, Ron Francis DID play for the leafs, so did Larry Murphy and actually so did Phil housley lol good comment though. Brought a lot of insight haha.

9.) 02 Aug 2018 04:26:33
And gretzky wanted to sign with the leafs as a UFA but leafs ownership at the time spent the money on a new arena instead of him.

10.) 02 Aug 2018 05:21:52
They all left the first chance they got and yes of course gretzky wanted to be there it's a wonder he didn't just play without pay just to be there and have zero chance of winning. hahahaha.

11.) 02 Aug 2018 05:27:36
2 of them retired because they had lost the joy of playing hockey after being there lol. But yeah your right I should have said none of those players would have played there while they were still good.

12.) 02 Aug 2018 05:34:57
Plus Murphy was booed out of town eventhough he was by far the leafs best dman at the time he was happier then a pig in poop when he heard there was a chance he could leave.

13.) 02 Aug 2018 13:33:43
How's that for insight haha.

14.) 02 Aug 2018 14:36:30
Lol okay. Gretzky did actually pick leafs as his destination, Rangers and Canucks after that. It’s all out there online in his own words if you want to read it, but you would rather talk without knowledge, we know how you work lol

“I thought I was close to signing in Toronto, I thought it was going to happen, unfortunately it didn’t” from a 2013 sportsnet story

And cue the “media had a gun to his back” conspiracy theorist narrative that’s really worn out lol.

15.) 02 Aug 2018 15:20:43
Yes again a player MIGHT have signed there in the twilight of their career wowwy wow wow lol. and no he didn't pick the leafs as his destination they expressed interest in him at the time just like the rangers and vancouver. he picked the rangers that's why he played his last 3 years there. I'm sure if he had really wanted to go to toronto he would have took a huge pay cut to do so. At that point of his career he was pretty financially secure lol.

16.) 02 Aug 2018 16:50:37
no. His first choice was Toronto, not at all costs tho. Ownership wouldn’t pay the salary he got elsewhere because they were building the ACC. Rangers would.

Marleaus number 1 choice last summer was to stay in Sam Jose, but leafs were willing to give him the 3rd year which guaranteed him $6 mill more. That doesn’t mean he wanted to be in Toronto more than San Jose.

17.) 02 Aug 2018 19:39:36
But didn't you say a few days ago marleau could have went anywhere but chose toronto.

18.) 02 Aug 2018 20:55:48
He did choose Toronto lol I don’t know how you’re going to argue that one but you can try. he chose here when considering ice time/ chance to win/ money/ security. Like I just said with Gretzky, he wanted to be a leaf but wasn’t willing to take as big of discount to come here as Stavros wanted him to. So for his families future security he chose NYR. Marleau wanted San Jose but chose here for a number of reasons, an extra year and more money being among them. Only difficult for you habby lol you act like there’s a line up of star talent flocking to Montreal lol.

19.) 02 Aug 2018 21:59:13
No jim I don't and I don't want anyone signing here unless it's on 1 year deals we can flip at the deadlie. I want to tank for 3or 4 years and hopefully get the 4th and 1st overall selections in the next two years so I can come on here and brag constantly about how great my teams management is for drafting two players that Stevie wonder could have picked lol.

20.) 02 Aug 2018 22:00:54
Or hopefully my team gets a chance to trade away one of the best offensive players in the league for next to nothing and still have to retain salary. Then I can brag some more about how smart and great they are to have done that.

21.) 02 Aug 2018 22:13:43
Also the dermott pick was the only other pick out of the 20 something picks in those two years that looks like he could have a chance to be an nhl regular. And even then they could have picked sabestien aho yep pure genius lol. Plus the last two years of drafting really don't look like anything extra yet either so step down from your ivory tower for awhile and don't plan the stanley cup parade like every other year just yet. Your franchise is in a good place right now because they tanked but they haven't done anything yet and they have been one of the worst ran franchises in sports over the years so try and stay a little humble the situation Ottawa edmonton and montreal are in right now is nothing compared to a lot of futile seasons your pride and joy leafs have had.

24 Jul 2018 11:26:46
Canucks: joulevi dahlin

Det: larkin

Canucks: gagner

Col: 3 rd pick

Virtanen horvat boeser
Sven larkin petterson
Erikson sutter liepsic
Russel beagle schaller

22 Jul 2018 10:39:57
Im so mad at the canucks like way you sign vets for for year that aren't any better then some of the guy you have in or system for 1 million dollars each

Gaunce = beagle
archibald = schaller
Liespic =russel

Like fuck the teams didn't sign them for a reason they are replaceable you spending about 8.5 million a year on those guys when you could of been spending 3 million have more cap room next couple of year to aleast try to sign a seguin or somebody but next year with boeser contract there going to be near the cap

1.) 22 Jul 2018 14:07:15
theres a lot to be said for vet leadership helping to mould your young guys into pros.

beagle is a professional and will teach your young guns how to be good pros.

canucks not going to make playoffs for 3 years. got to have good vets to keep the kids heads up.

not saying those guys are worth the money, but its not the end of the world.

2.) 22 Jul 2018 16:15:20
All rebuilding teams do it. They will sign 1 yr guys and put them in positions to succeed, hoping they put up decent numbers and can flip them for assets. Leafs did it with Paranteau, Boyes, Grabner, Mathias etc. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

As for the beagle getting good money for 4 years, he’s one of the best prototypical 4th line/ penalty killing centres in the league. He will be a great leader on and off the ice, like we had with komarov and when the kids overtake his spot in the lineup he will be moved on.

But a guy like beagle could have had 15 playoff teams calling him on July 1st and could have taken less $ to go for another chance to win. Canucks will have to overpay UFAs for a cpl more years till they’re ready to compete.

3.) 22 Jul 2018 18:54:24
Never been a fan of Benning.

4.) 22 Jul 2018 21:18:29
I though it was bad to pay a goalie 10.5 mil but 4 mil for a 4th line center has to be worse.

5.) 22 Jul 2018 21:25:56
Is it 3mil for 4 years or 4mil for 3years. Ahh either way lol.

6.) 23 Jul 2018 05:32:52
$3 mill for 4 years. And where does Shaw slot in on habs?! Lol at $3.9 mill for 6 years. Every team seems to have one. We had Martin at $2.5mill and atleast beagles a great faceoff man for big draws late in games lol shaw and Martin would be riding the pine for 3rd periods.

7.) 23 Jul 2018 07:23:58
If you have to over pay for guy trade for guy alright under contract for leader ship this is what they should of done this off season

Canucks tanev sven gagner

Dallas Stephen spezza richie 2 rd pick

Goldobin horvat boeser
Petterson spezza virtanen
Liespic sutter richie
Arichbald grunlund erikson. kero

Edler stecher
Pouliot Stephen
Hughes guddy

Much rather see this line up next you they would have about 30 million in cap space to try to sign karlson
Seguin tyle of player.

8.) 23 Jul 2018 10:56:16
shaw wasn't brought in to be a 4th line center. there is a difference jim.

9.) 23 Jul 2018 15:18:47
I know but they’re still paying a guy $3.9 mill to be a 4th liner. Canucks paid what the market value in the current landscape was for beagle. They wanted a guy that should be on a contending team, to be on a team that would be lucky to be in the playoff hunt after January. That’s what the price was. They have there reasons to do it and if I can’t compare shaw and beagle because “they’re not the exact same situation” then why bring up Carey Price to campare to a 4th line centre value wise?! Lol I think shaw is a little more in the realm of conversation than price. Haha.

10.) 23 Jul 2018 15:48:38
jim we can say that about a lot of players. but the FACT is when shaw is not injured and is actually in the lineup he's better then hyman or brown who both get time on your teams top line. so by your logic he must be a first liner HAHA.

11.) 23 Jul 2018 18:20:00
He’s not better than hyman lol he was good as the third wheel with 2 future hall of famers in toews and hossa in Chicago. In 7 NHL seasons, his career high is 39 pts, and only broke 30pts one other time. Hymans first 2 seasons are 26pts and 40pts playing as the ‘veteran’ on the line at 23 years old with 2 teenagers lol and makes 2.25mill for 4 years. Not even close.

12.) 23 Jul 2018 23:01:40
but he plays with Matthews the 3rd most valuable player in the world 66 points in two full seasons wow! way to go hymen lol.

13.) 24 Jul 2018 05:21:07
I’m not saying he’s a star lol I’m saying he’s better than shaw. That’s not a high bar to reach. He does everything shaw does energy wise, back checking, forechecking, hitting, responsible in his own end, while putting up more pts is ninyear 2 than shaw has in 7 years and does it for half the money. Only thing shaw ever does that hyman doesn’t is drop the gloves and shaw doesn’t even do that anymore since he got the big contract and turned to glass.

14.) 24 Jul 2018 05:29:41
And to accumulate those pts, shaw gets 2:20 powerplay time a game. Hyman gets 9 seconds lol so he didn’t play with Matthews on PP, Matthews missed 20 games and Matthews doesn’t kill penalties where hyman has 5 SHG. It’s really not even close. Lol.

15.) 24 Jul 2018 05:37:08
And in the 20 games Matthews missed (4 then 6 then 10) hyman has 4g6a 10 pts. Exactly the same pace of 40pts as when Matthews was there (30pts in 62 games. ) I know you can never admit you’re wrong, but as you make sure to say in capital letters: FACT! Haha.

16.) 24 Jul 2018 05:49:56
He also has a contract with A publishing company and has 3 children’s books in stores, one is an award winning book! How many books has Shaw had published?! Lol another point for Zach!

17.) 24 Jul 2018 15:38:42
well at least he wll have something to fall back on in a couple years.

13 Jul 2018 13:02:12
What the odds of this next year for the canucks

Artem.p seguin boeser
Peterson horavt virtanen
Sven gaudette lind
Russel beagle palmu

Joulevi tanev
Hughes guddy
Hutton stecher

1.) 13 Jul 2018 13:39:49
like 0.

2.) 13 Jul 2018 14:42:07
Lol. Is this another new Brock account? Where did he go. What's his newest name anyways.

3.) 14 Jul 2018 11:00:42
It could happen tho next offseason think this team would make the playoffs.

4.) 14 Jul 2018 11:02:45
There aleast a 0.1 chance lmao.

5.) 14 Jul 2018 11:05:54
Maybe if they had an elite gm like Peter Charelli because we all know he can build a playoff team and never losses trades. Always bring in Elite talent for oilers trash like that joke of a guy Tanner Hall or whatever for Adam “ the King “ Larsson. Or that nobody prospect Matt Barzel for the most promising prospect in the game Griffin Rienhart.

So my answer is no there is zero percent chance Seguin and Paniran sign on a team that dosent know how to do a proper rebuild. Paniran goes to Chicago as a FA and Seguin resigns.

You should just prey Jim Benning dosent try to fast track their rebuild like the leafs did.

6.) 14 Jul 2018 14:26:43
And you're Leafs are absolutely perfect right VBB? Clarkson, Lupul, Phanuef, Robidas, Kessell, Rask just a few off the top of my head.
Yet another crazy over exaggerated comment of yours that has nothing to do with original post, Wtf is wrong with you lately?
You used to cry and cry and cry when I would post stuff like that.

7.) 14 Jul 2018 15:31:28
Now that the leafs are on the right path yupp, some fans feel they need to talk sh*t. There’s fans like this for every team. FairTrade4all was an example for the oilers fan base. The oilers almost made it to the western finals and they could do no wrong. Every player was worth gold and Chiarelli was the best GM in the league. When things go south, the mouths stop running. I think most people only bash in retaliation but we have a few kids on this site that are very immature.

8.) 14 Jul 2018 16:09:58
My last sentence “ you should just prey Jim Benning dosent try to fast track the rebuild like the leafs did” I’ll own up to the mistakes the leafs made but I never supported the manegment during that era. Even then the leafs were not tanking like the oilers.

Just don’t really like the oilers I guess they have one of the best players in the NHL ( no all around I don’t think he’s better then Crosby he dosent have the 2 way IQ yet ) and they can’t even make it to the playoffs.

9.) 14 Jul 2018 19:56:18
To stay on topic, I don't believe this is possible for the Canuks. I think they have to hope they build through the draft and find some gems to develop. I love the city of Vancouver too, one of the nicest cities in Canada IMO. Maybe the nicest. I'm just not sure they stand out when a superstar UFA is looking at teams roster wise.

10.) 16 Jul 2018 13:08:25
Vbb is just giving a bit back lol oilers and leafs were both garbage for a decade but oilers were handed 4 1st overalls to keep fans hopeful. But once the oilers had that playoff run a cpl years ago, almost every oilers fan on here developed a holier than thou attitude and talked down to leaf fans on the site. So now that the oilers struggled and leafs are landing big fish and looking great, he’s going to throw a cpl stones back lol not a big deal.

11.) 16 Jul 2018 14:23:57
Lol ya I don't think the Canuks will get Seguin and Panarin either man.
