As a Caps fan I'm not interested in this deal at all. Neither player fills an important enough need to justify the cost. If the Caps are trading those type of futures it needs to be for a long-term piece.

@kuzbackov we don't have the cap for a "long term piece" and yeah the 3rd d pairing is a revolving door along with the 4th line, yes it may be steep price but remember last year's deadline? Lol, and I don't think brown will pan out in Washington just because there are better prospects coming up with him, and a second rounder is an easy find at the draft I mean we did it this past draft so.

So the solution to a "revolving door" is to bring in players who are more of the same? I don't like Polak or Matthias any more than the players the Caps currently have in those slots.

Detroit says no. They don't have a lot of physical players on the team and have quite a bit of depth on the wing so they keep Abdelklader and re-sign him.
Helm is one of the fastest guys the team has and probably one of the fastest in the league. The only possibility Helm gets moved is in the right deal for a need or If Andreas Athanasiou takes his spot on the roster. Johansson wouldn't be the primary need for Detroit.
