Trade does not work for Isles. Lupul is too unreliable with his injuries and there is not roster spots available without trading or waiving a player. Lupul at the most is worth 2 3rd round picks at this time, not a potential 2nd and a B level defense prospect. In addition the Isles are not going to take on Lupuls contract as they need money to re-sign their RFA's this summer in addition to probaly needing to overpay Boychuck to stay.
Hall is going to take an overwhelming package to acquire if the Oilers even trade him. It is more than teams are going to be willing to trade, and the Isles are not going to move 3 valuable pieces at this time to acquire him.
Trade does not work for the Islanders:
1) Briere is worth a 5th round pick at best
2) The Isles already have 6 guys that can play center, and better than Briere. Tavares, Nelson, Nielsen, Czizkas, Bailey, Strome
3) There is no room on the Isles roster for another forward, means they have to put someone on waivers, and there is not 1 player on the Isles that Briere would push off the roster
4) There is bad blood between Briere and the Isles from when he cross checked Frans Nielsen in the head while he was with Flyers.
You saw this trade on another site which was suggested by someone who write for a Ottawa newspaper who clearly does not understand what the Islanders need. The Isles need a veteran D-Man for their 3rd pairing, and if they can get it on the cheap a 1st line LW. There is no need for a washed up Briere who brings no value to them.
Hahaha, way too much for Lupul. Guy cannot stay healthy, he is worth a 3rd pick only, maybe a 2nd. Not too mention he is on a bad contract.

You are correct, it will take a ransom to get Hall. As an Islander fan, yes he would look great next to tavares and okposo, but no way I would want to trade the young core of Strome Reinhart, Dal Colle, and another 1st round pick.
It does not seem like Evander Kane is going to get moved anytime soon, the Jets want a huge package for him and he just is not worth what they are asking for right now. Although he has a ton of talent he is an inconsistent player, and by multiple accounts has a poor attitude.
