Pitt- Evgeni Malkin
Mtl- Lindgren, Galchenyuk, Plekanec
I really think this trade make sense in lot of ways. Lindgren can be the #2 with Murray since Fleury left. Gal can play winger with Crosby and Pleky will be a bonus on the second line with Kessel.
Habs can pay 9.5 millions for Malkin and search for a left D-man next year.

Look. Galchenyuk can be a really good winger elsewhere and you can't trade a guy like Malkin to a younger-core team because you will break the chemistry. Malkin deserve to be a #1 center in the league, not always behind Crosby. Who can pay for a guy at 31? Habs, I think, can. Look at the age of Weber, Price, even Pacioretty. The window for the cup is now and for 2-3 years after.

No one said that he wouldn’t be a great fit in Montreal. They said penguins laugh because it’s a garbage offer. Avs got twice that in value for Duchene. He’s a good player, depending on the season, he’s knocking on the door of top 50. However malkin has been a top 10 player in the world for 10 years. A talented but underwhelming winger, a back up goalie and a plug cap dump does not get you an all world centerman haha I can’t believe I had to tell someone that last part.

If habs want malkin, they would obviously be keeping patches, Weber, price, drouin to go all in for it. That means you would be starting with Galchenyuk, Mete and a 1st and then wait to hear back what the pens want you to add.

The Habs can try to get Ryan Kesler from the Ducks. With the new addition of Hendrique move on the top line, and the near return of Getzlaf, Anaheim can be whilling to trade Kesler for younger assets. Kesler could be a good partner for Pacioretty.

Then you ask yourself is you need that contract when you have Weber and Prices already. The answer should be no as well.
Suter Weber $7.5+$7.85 = $15.35M
Alzner Petry $4.6+$5.5M = $10.1M
Price. $10.5M.
$35.95M for two D pair and a goalie.
Is that smart?

Sorry, I agree yup. i should have addressed what he was being traded for was also not going to happen. Just couldn't wrap my head around why we would want him before even looking into what we would be trading.
However. if Suter is available, that is very interesting. not for the habs though.

Yeah, I was thinking about this trade too, but finally it's make no sense because OEL is the lone asset in defense for Arizona and they can get much more for him. He is a talented blueliner left D-Man and it's really rare in this league. It's like trading Weber.
