The Jets would have trouble fitting all these players under the cap given Pulock will want $5-6 mil per. Minny and NJ wouldn't make these deals. Also the Jets would rather keep Laine.

Greenway, Woods and Zacha aren't needed by the Jets and would have little value to Winnipeg because of that. Severson is alright, but if the Jets are getting Pulock, not needed.

Pulock is a nice start, but the Jets would probably prefer another young roster player or prospect to go along with one of the firsts.

In other words the trade has too many unneeded parts to work.

I figured the other teams wouldn't accept but this is what Winnipeg requires.
Keeping Laine is, ultimately, going to turn into another Trouba scenario. he doesn't want to be here, Jets try and convince him to stay and finally get less than what the player is worth at his highest value.
regarding cap, it would not be hard to get all under cap, Little on LTIR, Perrault would have to go, Laine's 6.5mil comes off books.

I wouldn't worry about it right now Unoman. The Jets still have Laine's rights for 3 more years.

5.) 22 Oct 2020 21:56:37
Woods 6'2, 200LBS great speed, not expensive, under 3mil
Zacha, 6'3", 210lbs. good speed, 2.2mil
Greenway, 6'6 225LBS, fast, plays with an edge, 2.1 mil
all RFA eligible

Perrault 5'10", 180lbs, injury prone the past few years, 4.1mil 32 years old
Roslovic 6'1" 185lbs, fast, needs to play in top six (wont happen here) RFA
Shore (gone) 6'1" 200lbs, good 4th liner 750k
Bourque (gone) 5'10 210 lbs, good 4th liner 700k

and Jets don't need them? Hmmmm did you watch the season last year or play offs for that matter. Jets are too small. Star players getting run, dmen, always looking over thier shoulders. Cannot have Shief, Ehlers fighting, don't need Wheeler having to answer the bell all the time, Lowry doesn't play enough minutes to scare other players! We play in a physical division BUT i guess you are right we don't need these guys or like players.

Regarding having Laine for 3 more years. another Trouba saga, don't WANT TOP BE HERE, POUT, HOLD OUT, SIGN AND PUT IN MANY LACKLUSTER PERFORMANCES. Awesome next three years, got to love your foresight.

Unoman I agree about the Jets needing to increase their size, especially on the backend. They have Morrissey, Pionk, Heinola and Niku as speedy puck moving d-men but only Poolman and untested Samberg are big and can play a physical game.

I know jersey has been looking to add some acts to reopen the board walk but this 1 trick pony wouldn’t bring anything to the walk. Jersey would rather keep the walk closed then spend foolishly on a Winey baby.

those of you who believe Laine won't be traded are sadly misguided. Winnipeg cannot afford him in the tight cap situation they are in. The longer the wait, the less value the return will be. Case in point is Trouba. He told Winnipeg he did not want to play here, had to wait until his last year of RFA, then Chevy was forced to make the move. Unfortunately, it was a good trade AND bad trade for the Jets. Pionk is the good component, the bad part is that in not making the move earlier, it had a negative effect in the dressing room and limited Chevy's trading partners. Laine will be traded or Chevy will be fired! You cannot build a team with players demanding to play a specific position and if not accommodated, (as Laine and agent state) better if we move on. just my 2 cents.

themostleaf33, Is that your money your spending?
how can you say Pulju is better than Nylander?
just looking at stats alone, tells a different story.
regardless, oiler will make Pulju play in europe before trading him. thier hope will be that he lights it up in europe, raising or confirming what thier current asking price is. If he fails, then oilers will probably flip him in 2-3 years.
