Seems very unrealistically. The way Boston is trending they'll trade Marchand and Bergeron for 1st's and 2nd's and then draft players projected to go in the 2nd round with their first picks lol.

2.) 17 May 2016 02:02:10
Lol BJ you hit the nail right on the head.

3.) 17 May 2016 02:32:24
No reason for the Boston hate :/, All their picks in the first 2 rounds of last years draft have had real good seasons (Excluding Zboril) and they got a good deal for Lucic and the Hamilton pieces will hopefully play out, so long as Don doesn't bring in more gritty ahlers for 3rd round picks Boston should be a decent team.

4.) 17 May 2016 12:05:44
Its true, the Senyshyn pick was a stretch but the guy managed to score 40+ goals on a somewhat weak SSM team. I see them going after Shattenkirk. They tried acquiring him at the deadline so I think it'll be revisited. Don't see them trading Krejci. You're in a good state when you have 1A and 1B centers.

Seems Sweeney had an extra step in his plan after all. moves Martin Jones to SJS for forward prospect 'Sean Kuraly' and 2016 1st.

Uncle Buck

1.) 30 Jun 2015 20:56:26
Two first for Lucic is crazy good. But Toronto fans calm down Kessel won't get that unless you retain half his contract as well.

2.) 30 Jun 2015 21:06:45
Agreed Sweeney does have some tricks up his sleeves and i'm excited to see what he has in store for free agency

3.) 30 Jun 2015 22:03:06
Still doesn't take away from the fact that he didn't get near enough value for Hamilton and payed way to much for Rinaldo but I'll give credit where credit is due and admit that he did very well on the Lucic/Jones trades.

4.) 01 Jul 2015 01:12:22
Wtf @TheNumbNut in what world is Lucic in the same category with Kessel its not even close Kessel is going to get a hell of a lot more than Lucic got Boston stop hating

Kessel >>> Lucic

5.) 01 Jul 2015 02:18:40
What about him swapping this years 3rd to wild for their 3rd next year. that doesn't make sense. And trading for 13,14,15 picks then taking two guys who weren't even projected to go in the first round?? that's flat out terrible asset manegment.

6.) 01 Jul 2015 06:47:37
Too bad they drafted horrible with their 13th 14th and 15th picks. Looking forward to another awful pick with the 2016 1st rounder as well. It's time the Bruins suck again.

7.) 01 Jul 2015 08:51:10
I believe the B's are really comfortable with what they got in their three pics - not just skill, but attitude and speed + adaptation to future needs.

8.) 01 Jul 2015 13:00:52
@Tdot1334 when did I do that? ahaha

9.) 01 Jul 2015 16:51:07
@Stammer 13th pick was Zboril who was projected to go 12 I believe so how's that bad? 14th was Debrusk, yes he was projected to go late first but I still think he'll be a decent player who could score lot of goals not a bad pick either if I do say. I agree 15th was weird as they coulda got him with one of the 2nds but if you really like someone I guess your grab him up. Could be a good player of the future. Boom or bust.

22 May 2015 12:02:01
Bos: Chara + Lucic + Subban + pick
Oil: O'Connor + solid 2:nd line D-man

Uncle Buck

1.) 22 May 2015 12:17:18
Man.What?Do I even need to explain what's wrong with this post?

2.) 22 May 2015 12:19:42
That won't get you conner. There is nothing that can be offered to get McDavid out of Edmonton.

3.) 22 May 2015 13:24:17
o'conner is in ottowa

4.) 22 May 2015 19:37:26
Where does Edmonton get the solid dman from? Was there another trade I missed

5.) 23 May 2015 01:15:48
Mate it ain't mcdavid you seem to have peoblem reading its occoner and that goalie is from b.u. And playing for Ottawa

6.) 23 May 2015 16:50:07
My bad lads. aimed at Connor McDavid of course.
The question is in this case not if it's a fair deal in terms of value - it's what would give Oilers the best chance on the Cup the next season. The size of Chara ond Lucic (with probably new motivation) would make them hell bent to play against and offensively / talent wise they are alteady booming.
Or!???

7.) 24 May 2015 09:24:48
Hamilton, Lucic, Rask, 2015 1st for
1st overall, Nikitin, Purcel. Would be hard to turn down but the Oilers aren't trading McDavid for anything, they will get thier D and goalie some way or another.

8.) 01 Jun 2015 13:18:45
According to most prophecies in here, the Oilers will not be competing for the cup til (what) in 2 - 3yrs time!?!
Is that the fundamental argument for all ideas that they would sell Hall and/or Eberle this window? If so they ought to be lookin at a future prospect goalie in the draft - I heard there are some quality signing G's this year - and they should thus be likely to trade for picks to achieve that.

Or!??

All right, your cards on the table. who (reasonable/plausible alternatives) would you put highest on your wish list for Boston, includung draft pics?

Uncle Buck

1.) 25 Jun 2015 02:48:59
Mine would be Nash,Hall,Yandle,Oshie,Eberle or the 3rd overall pick. All wishful thinking i'm afraid not sure who would be reasonable or even possible. I doubt Sweeney will do anything major with being new and having Cam in his ear.

2.) 25 Jun 2015 08:35:13
Hall before Eberle?
What's Oshies salary?

Hall and 3rd is on top of my list.
What about Darnell Nurse?

3.) 25 Jun 2015 09:20:33
IMO: I feel we have good enough players down the right side like Pastrnak,Connolly,Smith,Eriksson but our left side is lacking in terms of pure offensive skill. Other then Seidenberg and Chara we also have a relatively young Defensive group so even though Nurse would be a good addition I think he helps Edm more then he helps us.
Just my thoughts though, What about you?

4.) 25 Jun 2015 09:29:22
And Oshie is on a pretty good deal I think its around a 4-4.5m cap hit.

5.) 25 Jun 2015 10:57:05
I guess the bottom line is what season is in focus. if we can regroup with a shot at the cup with few new signings, or build for two or three years ahead. Our youngsters have ability to answer, question is when.

4-4,5 for Oshie sounds swell!

But Ericsson is rumoured away frequently and hasn't Connolly been transfer rumoured also?

6.) 25 Jun 2015 12:33:26
I haven't seen any rumours about Connolly, personally I think if we can get him to a good bridge deal we could give him the chance next to a centre like Bergeron/Spooner/Krejci and see what he can do.

25 May 2015 08:38:33
Who of all Providence Bruins youngsters do you believe may be involved in a trade this window (who may be greatly sought after and who may be deemed squad surplus by the B:s given draft picks and so on?)

Given to stay!?!
Ryan Spooner
David Pastrnak
Seth Griffin
Matt Lindblad
Alexander Khokhlachev
Joe Morrow
Zach Trotman

??
Tommy Cross
Jordan Caron
Alexander Fallstrom
Craig Cunningham
Colton Hargrove
Anthony Camara
Linus Arnesson
David Warsofsky

Uncle Buck

1.) 25 May 2015 18:58:41
Anybody that isn't Spooner/pastrnak is available. Morrow might stay if we don't bring Mcquaid back. Griffith might be the most valuable due to his play this year and in the ahl playoffs, I don't even know about koko anymore.

2.) 25 May 2015 19:23:17
Caron was traded, it I'm not mistaken

3.) 25 May 2015 23:21:27
I see Morrow as given to stay, til the B's know his true potential in their system, plus they can hardly keep all their old D:s. McQuaid, Seidenberg, Chara all had injuriesstreaks this season and that makes McQ dubious in my eyes. Seids fought hard as hell to get back into action and that spirit is needed the most of the three, as Chara is not keepin up as before either

Is there any of the other young D-men to rely on at all this season?

4.) 26 May 2015 12:13:48
It depends on who we have available starting next year, as of now if we don't resign Mcquaid than Morrow and Trotman will most likely compete for top time beside Miller. But Morrow is also one of our more valuable trading assets next to Khokhlachev and Subban.

Which of these players do Boston need for a solid rebuild?

Agree Seabass2011, I believe he'll stay - they can't send all of the last years average signings away, neither practically nor for the word it would send to the fans about how they handle business and long term planing.
He'll be a usefull/ cheap complement!

Yeah, heard thst too, but have a hard time believin it - probably 10 teams willing to give him a shot and read somewhere that the plan to go back to KHL was in that case to raise experience for a new shot at the NHL un 1-2 yrs, upon which Boston would own some sort of rights still.
Not sure how this works/ what's true!

Ebsolutely. appreciate your thoughts, but are they refering to a need for a ready goalie? If so isn't a near 'ready' product in Subban (who is acknowledged as a quality prospect) interesting for the Oilers in say two years time (when there ought to be momentum for a Cup) .

I'm largely spining on the frequent rumours of M. Subban to Edmonton and the notion that Oilers have D-prospects that have enough quality to work with slower experienced players.

With the extension to K. Miller. Seids, McQuaid and Subban will go to Oilers for 4th overall.

If so. Shattenkirk is probably the one that comes on next to Chara, which means Loui is heading the other direction together with two picks and a youth D (Joe Morrow), which there by means Okposo or Strome will be targeted for RW.

Bruins then resign Liles for two years and go for RW and D prospects at the draft.

Followed a thread on HF Boards that discussed the B's line up this fall, where K. Miller's was criticised heavily, but weher someone pointed out that he stats wise had good chemistry with Krug. Maybe Don sees them as a given second pairing and aims at a new no.1 D next to Chara, someone with more speed and quicker passing.
C. Miller + Liles as an affordable third line maybe and
Mc. Quaid, Seids, Morrow and Trotman flexible for leaving.

Value wise an interesting proposal for Bruins, but I think they will look for a single higher value prospect.
