A few trades for the maple leafs and good drafting and there could be some hope for the future.
Toronto: kessel
Nashville: Josi, 2016 1st (24-30)
Or
Toronto: kessel
Florida: huberdeau, 2015 1st
Toronto: phaneuf
Colorado: O'Rielly
Or
Toronto: phaneuf, lupul (retain $1 million each year from lupuls contract)
Dallas: Radek Faska, Brett Ritchie, 2015 2nd round pick (Detroit's pick)
Draft 2015
4th pick Dylan strome if gone take Noah hanifin
24th pick Erikson Ek or Oliver kylington maybe a little Babcock influence and taking a Swedish player.
If Florida trade goes through take someone like brazal or zacha or other top 10 forward that might slip a few spots.

Kessel won't get Josi and a first. Josi would be the best defenceman on many teams.

Phaneuf won't get you O'Rielly straight up without retaining a ton of money. And Dallas sure as heck wouldn't be giving you two of thier best prospects for that crap! Jesus.

2. Huberdeau and a 1st? Really? Give Huberdeau another year and he is as good as Kessel offensively, but sure better on D and on a way better contract by then.

4. don't steal DAL young talent for things the Leafs want to get rid of and have rather negative value, just as 10-35 games a year Lupul with his big contract.

Ok ok ok. Lol first off i'm not trying to shoot off i'm just sticking up for my team and facts are the Leafs do have the best fans, the team made the playoffs once in last 10 years and never won a cup in almost 50 years! Yet they still sell out games and the fans are always back year after year.

Good point indeed! But when we are fan we la say that are team has the best fan snd true that leaf always have a sold out Crowd just like in montreal! So on the same page we could say that canada got the best fan
