Sharks don’t have a first round pick this year plus can’t afford the cap space to achieve Schmidt. They still have to resign Labanc and sign Thornton and Marleau.

Honestly, I feel like Kane’s contract is a bit of a hindrance. I’m not saying he has negative value, not at all, but I feel like a 1st, 2nd and McLeod might be a bit much.
