Two Anaheim trades making both teams better (IMO)

Trade 1:
CBJ - Panarin
ANA - Silfverberg, Ritchie, Welinski, Conditional 3rd (2nd if Panarin signs extension with ANA)

Trade 2:
MTL - Pacioretty
ANA - Silfverberg, Pettersson, Conditional 3rd (2nd if extension is signed)

Huge no from Columbus and Montreal.

2.) 21 Jul 2018 15:25:45
Maybe from Montreal but defiant no from Columbus.

3.) 21 Jul 2018 21:30:54
Pacioretty: 2017-2018 17G 20A 37P -16, $4.5MM UFA 2019, age 29
Silfverberg: 2017-2018 18G 27A 45P E, $3.75MM UFA 2019, age 27

Why would Anaheim even add to a straight swap?

Pacioretty has onerous contract demands ($8MM x 8 years) . He has a chip on his shoulder for signing a team friendly contract with Montreal and wants his next contract to pay back some of the value he gave away on his last one. I wouldn't touch that baby with a 10 foot pole or at best view him as a rental.

PS If you tell me to look back at his previous years, fine. I see his stats. But players are paid for future performance, not past performance, and Pacioretty's terrible season last year killed his trade value. If you're still unconvinced, you can have Seabrook.

Yeah, def not a deal MTL says no to.

5.) 23 Jul 2018 04:23:35

ANA: Ritchie, 2nd (2018)
CAR: Teravainen

Carolina gets bigger and a good pick while Anaheim gets a better depth scorer.

Doesn’t make Carolina better tho?

NYR: Mcdonagh and Grabner

ANA: Ritchie, Larsson, Bieksa (Pure cap dump) 2018 First, 2019 second

Anaheim can afford to give this up because of their depth and they receive a top pair veteran, while getting Bieksa the hell out of Anaheim. Grabner then jumps on the third line with Henrique and Anaheim should be able to make a deep run with that.

The Rangers get younger and can use Bieksa as a fill in for the rest of this year. Ritchie (21) and Larsson (20) have a ton of upside and are very affordable. Plus the two draft picks, which Bob Murray doesn't usually like to trade, but the return is worth it.

Ducks Gm is not type to trade studs + draft picks for Aging players.

Couple Anaheim ideas based on the fact they need some help.

ANA: Vatanen
NJD: Henrique

ANA: Vatanen, 3rd conditional
MTL: Galchenyuk

ANA: Vatanen
VAN: Baertschi, 3rd

And the fun one...
ANA: Vatanen, Steel, Ritchie and 1st
NYI: Tavares

Let me know which ones seem more realistic than others. With this upcoming road trip, as Anaheim Calling pointed out, it could make or break the Ducks.

No from Montreal.

2.) 29 Nov 2017 05:16:43
mtl4life are you serious? vat > chuck.

3.) 30 Nov 2017 11:37:53
Henrique is better than galchenyuk, but Anaheim adds a pick for the habs trade? And Tavares one I know is just fun, but they have Getz and Kesler locked up to big money, none of them is a third liner and you don’t trade all that for Tavares unless you’re prepared to offer him 8yearsx 10+mill.

Very true thanks JIM.

But did I call the Vat and Henrique trade or what!

No shot Steele is involved in the deal for ANA. He is their future down the middle.

Believable if the Pens think they can resign him.

This situation is tricky. Ritchie fits the Ducks profile and style of play, yet he hasn't produced like they are expecting. Yet, he's 21 years old and have been in the league for nearly 3 years now. They will be patient on him. I can see the Ducks offering just the first and maybe Megna or Welinski but I doubt Ritchie gets involved.

Switch Matthews for Marner. Only chance you're getting a one for one there.

I don't think Anaheim does this after the Henrique trade. Too much salary to take on as well as they are pretty high on Larsson. When healthy, the Ducks are pretty deep with forward depth now.
