Buffalo - Tyler Myers and Chris Stewart (1.5 mil retained)

Colorado - Ryan O'Reilly, Ryan Wilson, 3rd in 2016

To Edmonton - Eric Staal and Andrej Sekera

To Carolina - Jordan Eberle, Martin Marincin, 2015 1st, a conditional 2nd in 2015 if Edmonton makes the playoffs, and a 2016 2nd that becomes a first if Sekera does not re-sign.
First blockbuster of the year?

Scheister

1.) EStaal will never waive his NTC and agree to play in Edmonton

2.) So if sekara doesn't resign the oilers give up even more? Obviously draisaitl hasn't gotten through to everyone about the conditional picks.

3.) 05 Nov 2014 14:27:51
Wtf?
Eberle isn't much worse than Staal, plus he's younger and his contract is over 2m per year cheaper.
This already makes their trade value nearly even.
Sekera and Marincin aren't too far apart in trade value either, Marincin is young and talented.
But EDM still adds a 1st (which pretty likely will be a top 1-10 pick plus the chance of winning the lottery) in THE draft year, plus another 2 2nd rd picks?
Oh wow, no thanks from EDM.
@Oilers_11: Sad, but you seem to be right.

Hope this is more realistic than my first few posts! Here goes.

To San Jose - Tyler Myers

To Buffalo - Jason Demers, Matt Nieto, 2015 2nd round draft pick

Scheister

1.) 1st, Murray will not trade Myers for what he is worth, he will want an overpayment.
2nd, if SJS wanted to improve their defense why would they trade a top 4 dman?
3rd Nieto is a good start, but a 2nd that will be at the end of the round is not much better than a buffalo 3rd.
So if the Sharks WANT Myers, they will have to meet Murray's price. It has been repeated it here often, a GOOD prospect, a GOOD pick, and another decent player. So, Nieto, 1st and a decent player.
Or is SJS did not want to send a top prospect, nor pick, nor player from the current team, you might get Murray's attention with: Nikolay Goldobin, Dan O'Regan & Matt Tennyson. Last years 1st, a 5 from 2 year ago and a free agent signing, but they are all decent prospects.

Edmonton - Yakupov and Jeff Petry

Philadelphia - B. Schenn, Matt Read, and a 2016 2nd round draft pick

Hard put to say if the value is on par, but I tried. Transaction would give the Flyers a gifted winger and steady defenceman, while giving Edmonton a 2nd centerman and another scoring threat. If you think it is an unbelieveable proposal then please give some constructive feedback on how you would change it.

I think Yakupov needs to prove himself first before he can get traded and receive a return like that from a team. Flyers would say no as of right now.

2.) ^ If Yakupov proved himself, it's going to cost a lot more than Schenn, Read and a 2nd to get him from Edmonton.

The hole point of trading for him now is that his value is low but his ceiling is still so high.

3.) "hole" lol

Arizona - Gormley & Vermette
Toronto - Lupul & Holland
Fair or does one side add?

Scheister

1.) 23 Oct 2014 04:30:44
Toronto adds.

2.) Mmk. What would make it work assuming this proposal is a good basis? Thinkin scoring for the Yotes & upgrade center + D help for the Leafs. Would it be more even if Toronto added Leivo?

3.) Vermette I know.Gormley? who is he? a blue chip prospect perhaps? looks like Arizona needs to add eh!

How will Jim Nill get his team to the playoffs this season? Obviously, the whole "fixing the defense from within" isn't working. IMO they need to upgrade at D soon or risk missing the post season and if that happens they also may lose Spezza to free agency.

So my question is: Who is a dman who could immediately have an impact, but not cost Dallas too many pieces?

IMO Myers asking price is way too high. I just cannot see Nill letting Nichushkin+ go.

Could a player such as Paul Martin, Marc Methot, Jeff Petry, or even Dustin Byfuglien be brought in? And what would each of them cost? Looking for feedback here as long as it's constructive and pushes the idea forward instead of bashing it.
Thanks

Scheister

1.) Gonchar maybe?

2.) @Cd1 it would be hilarious if they traded to get Gonchar back.

As bad as they began, is anybody else just totally baffled that Edmonton has won 4 in a row with 3 of those wins being against talent loaded teams like Washington, Montreal, and Tampa Bay? Have they been getting lucky? Is the West just that much more dominant than the East? Or is this the year things start clicking and finally turn around? #DoYouBelieveInMiracles

Scheister

1.) They beat montreal by playing a good team defense blocking shots and keeping them to the outside. if they can continue to play like this they may make the playoffs. but maybe other teams will stop taking them lightly and actually play desperate against them and they will get a lottery pick again this year. its to early to tell we will see how they are around the 40 game mark

2.) They played well against Tampa. Tampa was adjusting to some injuries (first game without Hedman, Killorn, lost Callahan half way through), but was outplayed by Edmonton whole game through. Edmonton actually played good defence in that game, which is their key because their offence should be able to produce with the best of them.

3.) Is anybody else totally baffled that they haven't won a single game against a Western Conference team?

Hey Boris, remind me the last time Eller scored more than 30 points in a season. Oh, wait, he hasn't.

Pretty close, but IMO San Jose doesn't give up their 1st if they're giving up two young roster players with decently high ceilings. Nieto, Demers, and the Sharks 2015 2nd would be plenty when you take into account that Myers point totals have dropped evey year upon breaking into the league and Demers and Nieto have been trending upwards.

3rd AND 2nd, maybe. Top 4 dmen at a premium in the league so maybe even more.

The idea of Edmonton getting McDavid sends shivers down my spine. They screw up every young players development and I want to see him reach max potential, not be yanked around that joke of a club until his confidence is ruined. If three years of getting fisrt overall picks didn't help them become winners then they don't deserve a player like McDavid or Eichel.

Floaters I leave in my toilet are more valuable than both them combined. Wish my floaters got 7 mil a year. we'll begin at 5 dollars! Do I hear 5 dollars? Anyone?
