Give up a first rounder from 6 months ago, a second rounder, and a serviceable D for a first rounder? Lol the only way this happens is in June when the draft order is set, Canucks pick is top 3-4 and habs love someone in that range. Otherwise they just spent a year investing in sergachev who is a much needed guy just to pass him to Canucks and start again.

Hanifin? A bust? It's been one and half seasons and he has fantastic puck possession for a 19 year old. He's a two way d-man and will eventually become an elite player on the blue line. Not everybody is an Aaron Ekblad or Drew Doughty. And Provorov stuggled mightily throughout his first couple games of the season, if anybody was suppose to be the "best d-man" of the 2015 draft" it would be Werenski.

Look at our Seguin. or even our boy Chucky. Big Joe Thornton wasnt a star rookie. but. I think it went well for him .
Some guys aren't ready right away, . I think he will be jus fine. maybe Oil should have let him go to World Jrs. get some confidence. and some AHL time would be great for him.

I never really thought he was on par with Matthews and Laine but i guess his world junior performance inflated his expectations quite a bit. can't really call any 18 year old player playing in the NHL a disappointment though, that's very impressive in its own right.

We'll he looks like he will be a better offensive player than Tkachuk, but Tkachuk looks like a player that playoff teams feed off of. Strong amount of grittiness, he's mean and a decent amount of offence like a Ladd or a Backes. Dubois already looks like he will not live to the expectations of Columbus, he's not quite on par with a top prospect in terms of point production in arguably the least strongest CHL league, the Q, he's generating well under a point per game and he's not even playing Center either, which was the main reason CBJ drafted him. JP will be elite along the lines of Blake Wheeler as soon as he finds his NHL groove somehow, but he isn't a disappointment. Laine and Matthews are already looking to me like the only franchise forwards coming out of this draft in terms of how they impact their team, like a Ovi or Toews.

Laine and Matthews are just better than a lot of players in the draft class.
PulJ has produced when with McDavid (I'm pretty sure everyone will) but they want him to gain more experience. But why they haven't sent him back to Finland, that i do not know.
Just think of the Draisaitl situation a few years back. He was quite bad with points in his rookie season but now he's found his way.

No. Pul should've been in the AHL to begin with, one of the few missteps so far this season by Oilers brass to better the team so far. That said, he's got a wicked shot, big body, is a dynamic player, and will find his way in the NHL in due time.

He's actually playing just fine if you watch him when he plays, just not putting up the flashy points that's why you don't notice him. He's been bounced around the lineup.
They said they aren't lending him to play the world juniors but that he could see some time in the AHL soon. Which wouldn't be a bad thing.

Because they didn't give him up for nothing? Kid asked for a trade they were tired of his antics so they have him one. A more well rounded D man that they felt was a first round talent (Libor Hajek) fell into the second round so they made the move. Wont argue they got full value. DeAngelo was the D man they really need. But they didn't get nothing.

Hajek is a defensive defensman, does not contribute offensively, he is almmost like the keaton middlsbrook pick by the leafs (who I don't think has a chance to make the NHL) . neither are strong skaters, or can produce offensively. big guys are always great, but the NHL is moving away from that ilk of dmen
Thats how I feel, Yzerman has dealt with multiple problems within, I know i t was said that they got sick of his antics but I find it hard to believe that if they can deal with drouin, they can't deal with Deangelo.
the move has been done now obviously, but I don't feel like it was Stevie Y's best move.

Difference between Drouin and DeAngelo is that Drouin was proving he could play how they wanted. DeAngelo was a healthy scratch a half dozen times for attitude reasons and last year made no progress in ths defensive end. Lightning don't do 1 dimensional players. Hajek has 10 assists on a team that's at the bottom of the WHL in scoring. he's no offensive stud but he's better than his number have shown on a shitty team. Projections have him as a middle pair shutdown guy. Shutdown Dmen do have a place in the NHL.

No, i'm sure he'd get good numbers with any of those guys. take him away from the superstars and he's probably jus average. he's not going to get nearly as many points as a Tarasenko, or Gaudreau.
