1.) The only thing that interests me for San Jose is your first but I would rather keep Pavelski.
2.) Why would ottawa trade for a 30yo?

I think Edmonton would do that - Eberle and Pittsburgh's 1st (22nd) for Zibanejad, Chiasson, Ottawa's 1st and the Dallas 2nd.

two scenarios here
ottawa needs a first line center its their biggest need
so.
1) at draft:
edm: zibanejad, anderson, 1st 15, 1st 16
ott: eichel
2) eric staal for ott 1st + nick paul
1.) Have fun drafting the next 10 years
2.) 1) if Ottawa is going to give up Zibenajad (projected as a number 2 C at WORST) our number 1 goalie (with no goalie in return so that doesn't work) and our firsts the next 2 years (which isn't going to happen - we saw what happened to Toronto) we are going to get a more proven player than Eichel. Even Ryan - a 30 goal scorer - didn't fetch 2 first rounders.
2) Eric Staal may still be good, but he isn't the same as he was even 5 years ago. Plus, he has his cup and is in a place hw wants to be with his brother. I can't see him waiving his NTC for Ottawa

edmonton finishes with last overall pick, they decide to shake things up because picking first hasn't worked out for the last couple of years, they want to win and now!
yes mcdavid is an amazing talent but adding him and some mediocre free agents( no one wants to go to edmonton) isn't going to lift them into a playoff spot. I imagine they finish bottom ten or bottom five again in 2016 even with mcdavid

1.) I know its McDavid, but you're not getting Zibinejad AND Ceci. That price is just too steep for Ottawa. They may have 8 D under contract, but they aren't as good as Ceci. It would just be filling one hole by making another (or in this case, two holes. They give up a t4 D and still need another t6 fwd)
2.) What if ceci was subtracted? fair or not close
3.) Nice try ottawa for bunch of nobodys
4.) Disagree with me all you guys want, its plain fact. Murray said he needs ANOTHER T6 player. Shipping one out for a potential t6 leaves him 1 short STILL and to ship out Ceci, one of Ottawa's best D, leaves a hole on the back end that Gryba, Weircoch and Claessen can't fill.
It may be fair value, its just too steep of a price for Ottawa.
5.) It will take more then that to get McDavid
6.) If Edmonton would trade their first pick and if it was first overall any team would have to overpay for the pick. Mcdavid is a generational player and they won't want to give him up.
7.) @Juice it would take at least that amount to get McDavid possibly more

Charles Xavier - never said it wouldn't I'm saying if Ottawa had GOOD D prospects they would di it - they just don't have anyone to step up and replace Ceci, meaning it makes no sense to do that trade. And McDavid still doesn't fill the void of a needed t6 player if Z-Bad is also leaving. The trade gives Ottawa a very good player, but also leaves them with 2 holes to fill and ONE of them is Centre - where Ottawa is already weak at. It just doesn't make sense. Regardless if its a fair trade or not.

Lineup 2015-16
1.) 1st trade might get you OEL alone, but inwouldnt do it. Not worth giving up that much, as good as OEL is.
2nd trade is insane. Clearly you're a leafs fan.
3rd trade is also insane because if you're going to get Mc or E, why would you trade that away? If not, I'd consider it. Pretty conditional trade.
4th trade is terrible. Petry alone is worth at least a 2nd from Detroit. He'll likely get a 2nd and a prospect. Marcinin won't go along with him unless it's for much more.
2.) Totally agree chirp. The team looks worse after this, better d but overall worse.
3.) Don't listen to Chirp, he's a delusional Oil fan that thinks they're worth more than they are. Like most oil fans.
4.) Take out Marincin in the 5th trade and add him to the first trade. Might get you closer to OEL. Take out Draisaitl in the 2nd trade. All in all, as you said those will not happen.
5.) Haha thought'd i'd try , obviously didn't work out
6.) Petry isn't worth a 2nd. Mike Green and Cody Franson are, Petry is worth a 3rd and maybe an ok prospect

MY mock draft 2015
only top 10
1) buffalo chooses mcdavid- let's watch buffalo turn into a dynasty with this kid
2) edmonton chooses eichel- edmonton does something right for a change and takes this stud
3) carolina chooses hanifin- a cornerstone #1 dman
4) arizona chooses marner- with the likes of dvorak and domi( london teammates) already in arizona, they choose this uber skilled but small forward
5) toronto chooses d strome- I'm a sens fan so I hate this pick but a hometown future first line center
6) cbj chooses zach werenski- a great dman to add to a weak d core
7) njd choose pavel zacha- new jersey loves their czechs and is in serious need of a great forward prospect
8) ottawa chooses oliver kylington- ottawa loves swedes and in a few years him and karlsson could be nasty
9) philly chooses lawson crouse- a big steal at 9 and a future line of crouse g and voracek would be deadly
10) minny chooses mikko rantanen- minny loves their fins upfront and they add yet another great one
everyone happy?
1.) This is possible but I have a very hard time seeing the CBJ passing on Crouse though. He seems to fit their system perfectly.
Oh and I would be thrilled if the leafs got Strome just so much patience, poise, vision and hockey IQ in him, I would have him ranked 4th on my personal list.

9.) I can't see Ivan Provorov slipping/being passed on by by the top ten choices in the draft. He looks like to be the real deal. He is the best defensmen in this draft.
10.) Everyone is expecting Edmonton and buffalo and Toronto to pick first overall. There's only one pick, and it might not even go to that team. You have a lot of teams like Carolina, Buffalo, Arizona, Tornto, and Edmonton but only one Connor McDavid. 4 of those teams will be really disappointed in a few months.
11.) Prodepth I get where you are coming from with regard to mcdavid, but to say those other 4 teams will be disappointed in this deep a draft is just ignorant.

@charles xavier I think crouse had a great game in the prospects game tonight. so did provorov with some huge hits. sucks that barzal is injured but I think he might the steal of the draft if he slips out of the top 10

barzal 1/2 center- not sure
as you can see I have some holes in my list, i'd love to see what you guys have to say about these guys or make a list of your just like the way I did.
and one last question. who do you think is most underrated prospect projected to go in the first round this year?
