Leafs - Johnson, 2019 3rd

Ducks - Richie

Sorry but the Leafs don't add. I know Ritchie was the better prospect coming out of junior but Johnsson has proved just as much in the pros.

2.) 01 Feb 2019 05:04:39
Ritchie has found his game this season and been one of the few bright spots for the Ducks, don't see them making this swap.

3.) 01 Feb 2019 13:35:07
Hotguybabes don't you realize that every leaf Prospect is better than anybody else's Prospect what's wrong with you.

4.) 01 Feb 2019 14:44:00
Balsam8, that applies to the Blues. Who said he was better? I said he has shown as much as Ritchie. According to some non leaf fans all leaf prospects are garbage and even there picks aren't as valuable as other teams.

Yeah toronto adds or Anaheim doesn't make the trade.

Leafs oilers needs major shake up. Time for a blockbuster

Leafs - Mathews, nylander, gardiner

Oilers - Mcdavid, Lucic,

Cant see the Oilers ever trading McDavid! What I can see is a possible Matthews deal with Arizona at some point? Maybe Matthews and Gardiner for Keller, Chychrun and Fisher?

2.) 21 Jan 2019 17:00:02
The Leafs would have to add a couple of prospects like Sandin or Liljgren and at least a 1st. McD is so far ahead in skill, talent and potential that an over paid Nylander and a UFA Gardner will not cut it, even with Edmonton dumping that over paid anchor Lucic.

KIngs are in a rebuild and need a massive shake up. This is a stretch but I think an interesting thought.

Leafs - nylander, lilegren, 2019 first, 2020 first

Kings - drew doughty - 25% retained of the 11 mil a year

Even if LA would retain salary, we can’t afford Doughty. And giving up a combined total of four first round picks, including a near-elite winger and near-elite RHD would put us in a deep hole as far as our future goes. We made our big splash with Tavares.

LA still sees themselves as contenders anyway. They won’t be trading the worlds best defenseman anytime soon.

2.) 06 Nov 2018 13:50:49
@leafsGM, I agree that’s a lot to give up but consider that it’s having doughty for 8 years at $8.25 mill. That’s what Nylander is asking for! Lol even if we got Nylander signed at what the leafs apparent top dollar is, $6.75, for a difference of $1.5 mill you’re getting a Norris caliber, 2 time Stanley cup, 2 time Olympic gold medal Dman, still in his 20s, who you just called the best Dman in the world instead of a good young winger with upside. With the salary retention, I would make that trade everyday of the week. Would suck to lose liljegren, but doughty and zaitsev would be the top 2 RHD for the long haul anyway. And with that lineup, there’s no reason those picks shouldn’t be 24th and later.

I will agree it would never happen, but if that was possible, I’m all over it.

3.) 06 Nov 2018 21:17:31
In LAs current position they should take that. LA will never contend with this current core.

So it appears leafs have given Carolina a window to negotiate with nylander. Leafs do sign and trade or just trade if it's not an 8 year deal.

Tor - nylander

Car - Peace, Julian Gauthier

1.) 28 Oct 2018 02:39:14
I'd trade nylander for peace, but can everyone in the world agree that a hockey trade would create that? Most countries in war don't even watch hockey.

2.) 28 Oct 2018 13:27:02
Will this trade go down on the 11th day of the 11th month, at the 11th hour?

16 Oct 2018 17:58:52
With kappanen showing he can play where nylander was and have success. Leafs can look at trading nylander for other needs, grit and defense.

Leafs - Nylander

Col - Josh Anderson, David Savard

Helps both teams I believe and money will work for both also. Col gets possible player to replace panarin if he leaves and leafs get gritty capable player in Anderson and a right handed shot stay at home defender in Savard who also has some grit.

This isn't too bad.

2.) 16 Oct 2018 21:54:14
I like J. Anderson and have heard CLB could put him out there on the trade block. And I also think Nylander is a good fit in CLB. All depends on what Nylander actually signs for. It it's less than $7M then he could bring a decent return. $7M or more is maybe too much. Interesting trade partner tho, all depends what Ny signs for IMO.

3.) 16 Oct 2018 23:07:24
I’d take that as a leaf fan as well.

Mcdavid will be a leaf in his next contract. We’ll patiently wait.

Aj and kap are both top 6 forwards. Not on the leafs but on garbage offensive team like the canes. That’s more than enough for. Defensive who clearly has some off ice issues as he’s been traded twice now and soon to be three times. Only reason leafs take a chance on him is he’s a local boy. Far as ferland goes he’s a ufa and can resign in Carolina next year if they really want him. The fact es mkt locked up yet shows his value to the canes and the league.
