Talks heating up on Pacioretty deal, few teams bidding. LA and the wild are some.

Malc13

1.) 25 Feb 2018 18:08:30
Vilardi hopefully or coyle + 1st something along those lines.

2.) 25 Feb 2018 18:13:56
As long as he gets traded by tomorrow, his value is quite high right now.

3.) 25 Feb 2018 19:41:59
François Gagnon Said this rumor is only media speculation and that La never made an offer.

4.) 25 Feb 2018 21:17:43
Franco is Gagnon also said his daughter was sexy but he's retarded so why based anything off what is said by him.

Galchenyuk foR reinhart
1 for 1

Montreal needs a center and Galchenyuk could change things around for Buffalo. I’d even add a 3rd going to buffalo.

Malc13

1.) 15 Feb 2018 05:04:05
Not too bad. Galchenyuk to play on Eichels wing and Reinhart to play centre for Drouin. Possible that this creates a pretty good line for 2 different teams.

2.) 15 Feb 2018 05:34:10
Yeah and they’re quite similar, both drafted top 5, similar builds and stats. both need a change of scenery.

3.) 15 Feb 2018 15:21:51
I'd be all for it!

4.) 15 Feb 2018 16:12:49
Galchenyk is literally our best forward rn he's playing really well so nooo.

5.) 16 Feb 2018 00:08:29
@mtl4life. That’s the point, he has needed a change for a long time. He’s playing good right now so teams will be more inclined to trade a top prospect for him. Habs have tried to trade him multiple times and teams weren’t willing to pay. He’s playong well but he’s not turning this thing around for the habs. They’re done. Get a 21 year old centreman with a ton of upside and get on with it.

6.) 16 Feb 2018 03:24:55
not going to lie this is the best trade I've seen in a while but i still don't know.

02 Feb 2018 04:27:51
MB is looking for a young top 6 C for Patches
So patches for Charlie Coyle. but what do you add to the trade?

Malc13

1.) 02 Feb 2018 04:35:21
Young center to build around not 25.

2.) 02 Feb 2018 04:35:31
Also I’m reading the habs are very interested in that young C Thomas from the blues. but I couldn’t see that 1v1.

3.) 02 Feb 2018 05:09:03
he's almost 26 that's not young.

4.) 02 Feb 2018 05:19:10
Good idea IMO. Montreal sacrifices a little bit of offence but get younger, cheaper and most importantly a center.

5.) 02 Feb 2018 05:19:46
True but habs may be retooling and not rebuilding, Coyle is a big top 6 C. what the habs have been looking for, for a long time.

6.) 02 Feb 2018 06:32:57
Coyle could be a nice addition but could imagine Montreal wanting a younger centerman.

7.) 02 Feb 2018 13:36:28
Malc13

Armstrong came out and said he isn't trading his top 4 for a rental or player with out term. So no. Also lebrunn just came out and said patches most likely won't be traded.

8.) 02 Feb 2018 16:29:44
But pacc has another year on his contract so he’s not a rental. and he’s cheap, so 2 cup runs at 4.5M of an elite goal scorer.

9.) 02 Feb 2018 16:38:47
“We may find out who the taker is soon according to TVA Sports. Hockey reporter Renaud Lavoie said during his broadcast on Monday that it is expected for a Pacioretty trade to come within the next few days”.

10.) 03 Feb 2018 20:57:28
Malc 1.3 years of a player is not term think 3+ years. On top of that army isn't trading his best c prospects let alone his top 4 or fabrri or dunn. Just not going to happen.

01 Feb 2018 17:21:22
Mtl gets Dubois and Carlsson

CBS gets Pacioretty and Plekanec + 3rd pick

Makes sense for both sides.

Malc13

1.) 01 Feb 2018 18:27:32
Patches for Dubois?!?! No player on Montreal one for one is worth Dubois except price. And Columbus doesn’t need him and that contract. Plekanec is a bottom 6 making $6 mill. Then you want a recent first round Dman on top? Lol not on Jarmos worst day!

2.) 01 Feb 2018 18:32:10
Bergevin was trying to trade 7 years of subban for the pick to draft Dubois that summer he was picked. You think 1 year of patches, a cap dump and a 3rd will get him and Carlson?!

3.) 01 Feb 2018 19:41:57
Pacioretty is going to STL tho. For Thomas, Kyrou, Dunn, and 3 1st rounders tho.

4.) 01 Feb 2018 20:17:55
How about pacc and Galchenyuk or Gallagher then?

5.) 01 Feb 2018 21:15:21
I still am not convinced over the hype of Dubois but easy no from Columbus.

6.) 01 Feb 2018 21:45:55
Another original zinger!

7.) 01 Feb 2018 21:57:03
Plekanic is a rental and really just a throw in.

I think the pick needs to be a 1st if Columbus wants to give up their future #1 center, or include Galy like Malc says instead of Plekanic.

8.) 01 Feb 2018 22:30:49
I don’t see any scenario of Dubois going to Montreal, short of a massive over Payment of a good young roster player and first round picks which would then defeat the whole purpose of rebuilding with a 20 year old centre.

01 Feb 2018 07:17:35
Mtl - patches

Cgy - Bennett and Dube

The flames need a good winger, and power play help. They also need some wins to be able to make the playoffs. Bennett could use a change of scenery and dube will be Montreal’s next top C.

Malc13

1.) 01 Feb 2018 09:00:43
Too much for Pacioretty I think.

2.) 01 Feb 2018 13:41:56
Patch with gaudreau and Monahan would look good!

3.) 01 Feb 2018 15:33:20
Patches and Gaudeau are both Left Wingers. Tkuchuk as well. Calgary needs a right winger.

4.) 01 Feb 2018 17:54:08
Calgary will need to offer up something besides Bennett.
A first round pick would have helped. Not sure if Montreal will accept a 2019 1st as I'm sure they'd want to start the rebuild now rather than in 2 years.

Yup's assessment I agree with. Flames are Too heavy on left side.
Montreal wants a better prospect that will be the top center. Dube and Bennett don't fit that bill.

5.) 01 Feb 2018 17:57:19
since when does positional need mean anything here. LOL

You canjust slot on of the players on their off wing and they will produce just like they do on their natural side. LOL

I have seen responses like these on the other board. I find them funny so i shared.

6.) 01 Feb 2018 18:13:27
Not many but some players can play their off wing pretty well, but not just anyone. got to have strong hockey sense and a good backhand, to take and receive more passes on your backhand than forehand on your off wing.

7.) 01 Feb 2018 19:31:48
Patch can play his off wing.

8.) 01 Feb 2018 22:39:13
I remember that joffery lupul was a RW in Anaheim and wanted to play LW to be on the line with getzlaf and perry but they wouldn’t let him. Randy carlyle said a RW can’t play LW. Then he got traded to Toronto, and by the time Carlyle came to Toronto a year later, lupul was putting up the best numbers of his career on the LW with kessel as the RW. You never know till they’re given the opportunity.

9.) 01 Feb 2018 22:59:06
Redwing. positional need meant something the other day when the patches to st. Louis rumor was squashed because he shoots left lol.

10.) 02 Feb 2018 01:31:10
Hey patches couldn't even play lw very well the other night.

Is it just me or Pacioretty is looking like a ghost out there, he’s playing terrible these past games and if i was the gm of a contender I would never pay the crazy price MB is asking for. One player is not going to make that much of a difference, so why ruin the future of your team for one player. look at Ottawa. didn’t even make the playoffs and paid a crazy price for Duchene. I’m a habs fan but wouldn’t expect more then a A prospect and a 1st rounder for the captain.

Malc13

1.) 10 Feb 2018 18:23:55
It's not you. He looked invisible when I went to blues game last week with some buddies.

2.) 10 Feb 2018 23:40:52
Pacioretty has been invisible for half of his career. He has 8 bad games and then 8 good/ great games. its nothing new with him 2 weeks ago he was scoring every game.

3.) 11 Feb 2018 05:13:24
He’s a streaky player. A lot of pure goal scorers are like that. This year has been tougher for him than usual, but he scored 8 goals in 10 games I think last month.

4.) 11 Feb 2018 16:58:59
Habby nailed it.
I think Patches is the most streaky player in the game.

04 Feb 2018 05:48:05
Jets are looking for a winger, who would you trade for Pacioretty if you’re the WPG GM?

Malc13

1.) 04 Feb 2018 14:37:25
The asking price for pacioretty is ridiculous. So no.

2.) 04 Feb 2018 16:02:40
Right not the apperent ask is a 1st, a 2nd, a warm body roster player and a top prospect.
Which is hilarious. But of course that's the ask now and come deadline day if he does get traded that ask will be way down.

3.) 04 Feb 2018 17:47:20
My guess is they’ll get a 1st, ok roster player (maybe middle six), and a decent prospect.

4.) 04 Feb 2018 19:39:58
I would agree wth that Xcing. Which is way off from a 1st, 2nd, roster player and a top prospect.

5.) 04 Feb 2018 19:47:51
A1st and a good prospect would be enough for me but if someone wants to pay that price that would be fine too.

6.) 05 Feb 2018 16:05:53
Toronto: 1st 2018,Travis Dermotte/ Anders Nilsson and Josh Leivo

For Patch

Leafs don’t need him tho although he’d be a huge upgrade on Hyman.

7.) 05 Feb 2018 23:36:20
LOL so Dermott is a good prospect now? If you want Patches its going to TAKE Lilijegreen and a first.

8.) 08 Feb 2018 04:49:43
Absolutely Zero need or want for paccioretty in Toronto but Dermott is a good prospect now, yes. Lol he always was, the rest of the league is just getting a bit better glimpse. He was a very early second round pick in 2015 and by age 20 has been an AHL all star and is playing in all situations in his first taste of the NHL and looked pretty good. Actually has fans and apparently management Atleast thinking if they really need to spend an asset to upgrade D for this season. Pretty impressive for the kid. A lot of great defensman hadn’t even tasted the league by that point.

9.) 09 Feb 2018 00:09:56
just going to point out that hyman is the least talented player in the leafs top 9, but only has 3 less points than pacioretty. Obviously paccioretty isn't having a good year, and hyman benefits playing with Matthews, but if our only top 9 player you want to upgrade is a grind it out penalty killing winger making $2.25 million for the next 4 years who has 30 pts in 50 games, I think we are okay lol.

Habs may have taken a lesser deal since Plekanec didn’t want to go to a west team. He may be back with the team next season.

It’s a great trade for the sens! Brassard is good and all but in what world does a team pay that price to get a third line center. three peat for the sens though?
