Latest rumour from the hockey news, has the Leafs trading Gardiner, and the 8th overall selection to the Oilers for the 3rd overall selection. Only if Sam Bennett is still available at #3 spot. Leafs will have a future superstar center come this Friday.
1.) This trade would only work if you replaced Gardiner with Franson and gave us Finn
2.) Bennett is unreal skillwise and has heart as well with a great mentor, the thing i'm scared about is he is very weak on the puck and if he doesn't fill out, he will be shutdown easily by the top pair, he will be unreal either way but I find bennett the riskiest pick in the top 4
3.) Ok. I'd rather trade Franson and Finn with the 8th pick for the 3rd pick instead of Gardiner. That kid is going to be amazing.
4.) I like the trade from both teams point of view. Gardiner may have more upside than Franson but he doesn't fit into the style of play of the Leafs
