The Flames are over the cap! Time to put Smid on LTIR, trade Wideman to Boston for a pick or a forward and trade Bouma.

Need an upgrade cause I don't think they'll make it far in the playoffs if they make it.

Here's some suggestions

BOS Ryan Spooner to CGY for Dennis Wideman (25% Retained)

CAR 7th round pick to CGY for Lance Bouma

Lines should look like

Gaudreau - Monahan - Versteeg
Tkachuk - Bennett - Brouwer
Spooner - Backlund - Frolik
Ferland - Stajan - Chiasson

Giordano - Hamilton
Brodie - Engelland
Jokipakka - Wotherspoon/ Kulak

Just ideas probably not that good.

Did you not read the comments last time you posted spooner for wideman?

2.) 11 Oct 2016 23:02:49
I never posted a Wideman for Spooner trade?

3.) 11 Oct 2016 23:03:28
Btw Flames are not over cap. Put Smid on LTIR is enough. Clearing Wideman would be nice though.

4.) 11 Oct 2016 23:59:38
Spooner can get way more than a retained wideman. The guy is playing great.

5.) 12 Oct 2016 00:38:52
My bad someone did, all delusion looks the same name-wise i guess.

6.) 12 Oct 2016 10:40:23
Spooner is going to be big for BOS this season. I almost took him over Ehlers in my fantasy league. And you want him for Wideman? Go back to bed.

7.) 13 Oct 2016 02:56:13
Flames have cap space, well sort of
$8,268 PROJECTED CAP SPACE.

Calgary Flames: Dennis Wideman
Boston Bruins: Jimmy Hayes

So Flames lines look like this after words, seen someone say Hayes is worth a 4th haha so Flames relieve some salary. Gets scoring help and Bruins get a top 4 Dman. And Hayes is Tkachuk's cousin.

Flames lines would look like this

Gaudreau - Monahan - Frolik
Tkachuk - Bennett - Brouwer
Shinkaruk - Backlund - Hayes
Ferland - Stajan - Chiasson

Giordano - Engelland
Brodie - Hamilton
Jokipakka - Wotherspoon/ Kulak.

1.) 08 Oct 2016 22:58:37
Since when did everyone become interested in jimmy hayes?

2.) 09 Oct 2016 00:58:09
If you notice, most NHL trades that happen are regulated towards the caps of each teams by the GM's involved in a trade. So in any trade, usually the trade has to have relatively the same salary coming back for both teams. So a 2 mill Hayes for a 5.25 mill Wideman should not work unless a bit more salary is coming back or salary is retained.

3.) 09 Oct 2016 02:14:53
I feel like I've seen this before. must be deja vu.

4.) 09 Oct 2016 02:40:52
Flames add.

5.) 09 Oct 2016 16:46:01
Shinkaruk was sent to the minors even though I don't agree with that it could be best for him to get good minutes as a top liner in Stockton so Bouma would take his spot here but other then that I like this trade. Gives calgary cap space to get Gaudreau done and still have cap space for maybe nakladal to come in over kulak and Wotherspoon maybe calgary would have to retain some salary being Widemans cap hit is a problem but I think it could work.

6.) 10 Oct 2016 02:06:27
Nakladal signed with hurricanes ^^ I really liked him

04 Oct 2016 02:44:52
Cgy wideman 25% retained
Bos 4th

If we can't get rid of wideman after his contract is up i'd honestly keep him but sign him to like a 1.5 mil contract for 2 years. He could be useful still, honestly kinda feel bad for him.

JohnnyGODreau69

1.) 04 Oct 2016 06:59:11
Wideman with 25% retained (think that's just over 4 mill) 1 year left could get more then a 4th. Espiscally from the Bruins, they could really use a puck moving dman. If I'm the flames I hold onto him tho, see how the season plays out and then If it looks like they won'tmake the playoffs by the trade deadline ship him out to a contender at 50% retained to maximize his value. If he's having a solid season he could even bring back a 2+a small add.

2.) 04 Oct 2016 18:58:49
BJ mkes a good point, Calgary should let Wideman get some games in and see what he's worth then come deadline sell high or keep him depending on how their season goes. He has a bad caphit and rep but he's still a viable player.

CGY: Mason MacDonald
EDM: Brandon Davidson.

JohnnyGODreau69

1.) 07 Aug 2016 10:15:27
Such a bad trade, the Oilers have a log jam of AHL goalies right now with Brossoit, Ellis and Laurakainen, the last thing we need is another goalie ready to play in the AHL esprecially for Davidson, who I am not overrating, he just seems like he has the potential to become a solid top 4, puck moving d-man if he could stay consistent, only time will tell.

2.) 07 Aug 2016 15:26:52
Easy No from the oilers.
A top 4 NHL dman for an ahl backup.?

3.) 07 Aug 2016 17:26:12
Calling Davidson a top 4 defenceman is really stretching it.

4.) 07 Aug 2016 18:20:37
That's just from not watching him. He's better than Sekera IMO.

5.) 07 Aug 2016 18:31:41
Davidson is a legit top 4 dman yeah, you just got to watch games to notice. This year you'll see I guess.

Here's some trades that I would love to happen.

Calgary Flames: Dougie Hamilton
Tampa Bay Lightning: Jonathan Drouin, 2017 1st Round Pick

Calgary Flames: Mikael Backlund, Morgan Klimchuk
Montreal Canadiens: Brendan Gallagher, 2017 1st Round Pick

Calgary Flames: 2017 1st Round Pick (MTL), 2017 1st Round Pick (TB), 2017 1st Round Pick (CGY), Stefan Falkovsky, Matthew Phillips
Colorado Avalanche: Tyson Barrie, Matt Duchene

(Similar to the Hamilton trade, allows Colorado to be able to make moves to move up in the draft)

Vegas takes Stajan and pick

Gaudreau-Monahan-Drouin
Tkachuk-Duchene-Gallagher
Versteeg-Bennett-Frolik
Ferland-Lazar-Brouwer

Giordano-Barrie
Brodie-Stone
Bartkowski-Kylington/ Healey.

JohnnyGODreau69

1.) 23 May 2017 22:54:49
No way does Hamilton get you drouin and a first.

2.) 23 May 2017 23:05:16
HAHAHA! Lmao.

3.) 24 May 2017 01:01:35
Obviously a huge Calgary lmao.

4.) 24 May 2017 08:48:23
Yeah sure, TB agrees to send Kucherov as well. You want Vasy, too?

11 Oct 2016 20:46:07
Gaudreau - Monahan - Versteeg
Tkachuk - Bennett - Brouwer
Ferland - Backlund - Frolik
Bouma - Stajan - Chiasson

Loving the forward core after Versteeg signed a 1 year deal.

JohnnyGODreau69

1.) 11 Oct 2016 21:01:00
All Canadian Teams in the west will be interesting to watch, all improved dramatically.

2.) 11 Oct 2016 21:59:40
Agreed Oilers look solid aswell, I think Winnipeg will tear it up

3.) 12 Oct 2016 00:11:28
Calgary still has a ways to go but improving. Oil will be better. Depending on how the Trouba thing shakes out, the Jets could be very good.

4.) 12 Oct 2016 05:13:12
Even Van.?

5.) 12 Oct 2016 06:54:10
Canucks improved imo but don't expect them make the playoffs. Only player we lost that would have an impact was Hamhuis. Vrbata, Higgins, Vey were all invisble or stuck in the AHL because they were that bad. Sutter missed 62 games, he's healthy now. Edler looks re-energized, Gudbranson and Erikkson trade/ signing. A year has passed and the likes of Horvat, Baertschi, Virtanen, Gaunce, Granlund, Tanev, Hutton, Markstrom have all matured, got stronger, and progressed (hopefully)

6.) 12 Oct 2016 07:34:06
I think Peg and Flames will be fighting for the playoff wild card in the West. Oil should improve substantially (barring another ridiculously injury-riddled season), but will still miss the playoffs (I peg them in around 12th overall in the draft), and I think the Canucks will be in strong contention for 1st overall.

In the East, MTL makes the playoffs based on one scenario and one scenario alone: if Carey Price stays healthy. Otherwise, I think they'll nosedive again. Leafs will be better overall, but still a work in progress. I'd slot them in somewhere around 3-4 overall in the draft. Sens will probably end up somewhere around where they finished last year.

My two cents (one cent each) .

7.) 12 Oct 2016 07:55:16
Too add, i should've said that I think the Canucks improved a bit but everyone around us dramatically improved.

11 Oct 2016 13:40:51
If Oilers haven't signed Versteeg yet they should. And also claim Parenteau

Would have a solid scoring core

Lucic - McDavid - Eberle
Pouliot - Draisaitl - Puljujarvi
Maroon - Nugent-Hopkins - Versteeg
Hendricks - Letestu - Parenteau.

JohnnyGODreau69

1.) 11 Oct 2016 15:16:09
Versteeg signing coming soon. No need for Parenteau. He's a good pickup for another team at his cheap contract, but Oil don't need him.

2.) 11 Oct 2016 20:24:12
Nice try Chirp. Versteeg signed with a Calgary lol.

3.) 11 Oct 2016 20:25:07
Lol Oilers, you lost Versteeg to the flames.

4.) 11 Oct 2016 20:28:26
Versteeg siging confirmed. With edmonton.

5.) 11 Oct 2016 20:28:35
Oops meant calgry fml.

6.) 11 Oct 2016 22:17:02
Not so soon Chirp. Looks like there is a need for Parenteau after all.

7.) 11 Oct 2016 22:17:02
Not so soon Chirp. Looks like there is a need for Parenteau after all.

8.) 12 Oct 2016 02:18:44
Dick move, Versteeg. Haha. I wonder what broke the nearly-done contract? Maybe the limited NTC Calgary threw in? In any case, I redact my previous statement and now agree that the Oilers should look at Parenteau. Unless he was snagged by someone else already?

9.) 12 Oct 2016 06:55:37
PAP picked up by the Devils, Pulk to Wild, Griffeth to Leafs and that's all the forwards really.

11 Oct 2016 05:36:24
Flames should really put Smid on LTIR, and trade Wideman for some cap space for scoring. Really liked the Gaudreau signing. Any ideas who they could bring up from free agency for scoring? Heard parenteau is on waivers. Would be a nice addition on the top line.

JohnnyGODreau69

1.) 11 Oct 2016 07:16:31
Pulk.
Disclosure: I read that in a blog but agree with it. He'd be a good 3rd line option.

2.) 11 Oct 2016 07:18:04
Pulkininen perhaps? He'd be a free asset and could play in the middle 6 perhaps. I'm not 100% but I think for NHL waiver priority flames are pretty high and have 5th priority. I know Leafs have 1st crack at whoever they want from finishing last.

03 Aug 2016 01:16:43
VAN
D - Luca Sbisa
EDM
C - Mark Letestu
2017 2nd Round Pick

Or

VAN
D - Luca Sbisa
CGY
D - Jyrki Jokipakka
D - Dennis Wideman (25% Retained)

JohnnyGODreau69

1.) 03 Aug 2016 02:44:44
You really overate Sibisa.

2.) 03 Aug 2016 20:04:54
Edmonton has no second rounder. Straight up trade would be required to make the deal plausible.
